  1. It did sound like it came from his end. But it's still Codd's fault.
  2. i think you mean ohhh CODD!!!! he's become accustomed to putting in unwritten notes where they don't belong lol
  3. Thanks Frank for your comments about me. Wish I could've been there for the show, but from the sounds of it, it must have been great! On the bright side, I was in VA Beach with my jazz band over the weekend and we took 1st place in our competition. Good job guys, and I'll see you with GR this weekend!
  4. Glad to see the rumors aren't true! Would have been a shame to not have the Brigs come out this year, but from the looks of it you are off and running. So keep it going. Also good to see Tom Meek still carrying a horn at his age... and is that Dave Wright I see too?! Best of luck this year
  5. Blousemen haters are just mad cause they can't make the corps
  6. I'm going to try to make it to practice tomorrow. Right now i'm without a car, making it a bit difficult, but I'll do what i can to make it. Hoping to see you guys tomorrow, but if not, have a good practice!!!
  7. I heard your soloist, Ben Love, has some chops Good look Prairie Sound!!!
  8. Timmy will always be Timmy, AND there will never be anyone else like him.
  9. The birthday weekend was just fine. Had some fun, but not too much..... Thanks again everyone!
  10. Couldn't make it today on account of basketball practice, but I'm planning on coming after that is over. Count me in that list!!!
  11. Doug is awesome. His hair cut also looks awesome!! It also makes him look about 10 years older
  12. Exactly. Hire someone with experience in recruiting or sales and give him/her the title of "Recruiting Director," with no other responsibilities but to get people to check out the corps. Make up a brochure, power point, or some kind of presentation along those lines, and have that person bring it around to local schools and colleges with band programs. Most kids are eager to learn, and are not know-it-alls like some adults in this activity who say, "I've been here for 20 years, you can't teach me anything I don't already know." Good luck!
  13. On topic.... I've heard nothing but good things about the 09 statesmen. Off topic..... the next Allen generation also has vibrato junior's number. That makes 4..... UH OHHHH Plus his vibrato isn't even that good.
  14. Unbelievable. When I found this out early this morning, I was in shock. I didn't believe it was true, since I'd just seen him the day before, cheerful and healthy as ever. I don't even know what to say... Rick was an inspiration to me... how i never once saw him without a smile on his face. RIP Rick, you will be missed by all. Prayers to the family. Love you sara!
  15. nice to see most people having pioneer out of last for this year
  16. I'm sure if anyone cared what you thought about pioneer, or their music selections, you'd be on their staff.
  17. well said. Last year, out of 90-100 total membership, Pioneer had 25-30 vets. This percentage is obviously not high enough. This to me has been the biggest problem. Retention of members is critically low, so I believe that returning more is the first step to building the corps stronger. People say that Pioneer doesn't recruit outside of locally, but this is very untrue. 15% of the corps was from the Milwaukee area. We had kids from South Africa!!, Texas, Florida, Tennessee, Nebraska, Wyoming, Illinois, Pennslyvania, West Virginia, New Jersey, and I live in New York. For those who don't know me, I am Donny's son, and have been a soloist the passed two years. The staff is as dedicated to the corps, if not more, as any other World Class corps. The caption heads would stay up all night some days, rewriting parts, while the techs listened to tapes, doing anything they could to make it better; they work tirelessly to get the corps moving the right way. And as for the students.... They are the hardest working people I've ever been involved with. Consider our talent level. Half of our hornline last year had either never played a horn, marched before, or was a woodwind traitor who'd come to the dark side of brass. We have to start every year teaching kids fundamentals instead of getting right to it. I love Roman to death, but boy is he stubborn. It would take a miracle for him to take someones opinion over his own. We need more talent. we need more NUMBERS!!! 36 horns and 20 guard does not cut World Class standards. Thank you all for your opinions, and even if I don't agree with some, you are all respected for trying to help this organization. To everyone else.... Help Pioneer move upward!!!!!
  18. Sorry to hear this. Sounds like a time for OperationTaps!!!!
  19. I thought SOG merged with the Nicktahou Cadets since both organizations were headed downhill. Just the word on the street.... Come check out Cru, Ghost, and Joe Stork's last show with his high school drumline this Saturday, it will be well worth it.
