  1. Are you at least going to try for the pit, man? It'd be a shame to blow a summer.
  2. No more broken heart buffet after this summer? Ugh. :( I hope to get a photo with you, man.
  3. I can't wait to watch you guys perform during the summer! I know you guys will be amazing! Hopefully I'll have a chance or two to yell from the stands for you guys!
  4. Thanks! I hope it goes well, too. (Oh, my coach is actually encouraging me to audition, too. I showed him some videos of rehearsals and shows and he had to pick his jaw up from the floor. Haha.)
  5. This seems like it'd be a great way to recuit as well.
  6. Sarasota isn't too far from here.
  7. I play rugby for my university, and practices, thankfully, will not confilict with any camps. As for more difficult? Apples and Oranges.
  8. I'm REALLY excited about this. I would love to march one of his lines.
  9. I know you guys are gonna rock this year! I can't wait to chill with you during the summer! Good luck, Pioneer!
  10. Yeah, another big problem for me was finger dexterity. Unless I was in the upper octaves, I had to get used to using some fingers again. (Oh, wait, I play Baritone Sax. Ugh.)
  11. Heck yes. Who do you think the corps would take: The 3 who busted his or her ### to get up to the corps standard, or the two who got lax/coasted through the next camp?
  12. I didn't really have the problem too much, as I don't march what I major in. The only major problem I had was that I had a tendency to over project my sound. Which, thankfully for me, is a "good" thing.
  13. http://www.rowloff.com/BooksFolder/Logic/QuadLogic.html This is good literture. I'd look into it.
  14. And there is one of the major differences between you and many others I see around schools, online forums or talking smack while they watch corps because they got cut from XYZ corps.
  15. I remember you posting that elsewhere, and the only thing I could think was, "Since when was Bluecoats not competition?" <**> My story is a bit different though. I auditioned and was offered a spot for what would be a "Top 12" corps, but found the atmosphere to be not to my liking, so I looked for somewhere that I think I could've fit in. And I'm glad I found Pioneer.
  16. I believe, sadly, that it is the rule. Look at how many people audition for...let's just say the top 6 corps in brass alone. See how many "Mid to lower" tier corps march a full hornline. :(
  17. I try. Well, when I lived in New Mexico there wasn't a "local" corps, so I went for the next best thing. Whatever sounded good. I knew a few people that did Pioneer and Kiwanis and jumped right on it. Of course, for Pioneer, I had to learn a brass insturment, but that made it fun for me. :)
