  1. Are there any websites that have drum speak? I've searched everywhere and can't find anything. Thank you for your time.
  2. I understand what some of you are saying about if PR goes on really early the judges will have to leave room for other lines, etc. And that makes perfect sense. Quite stupid, but makes sense. But, wouldn't you also think that by Finals night, especially with two nights prior to that with all of the top 12, that the judges have seen all the lines enough to know that if PR plays a good enough show they can be pretty confident of the rest of the lines after them and give them the score they deserve? (By the way, Coats are going to win drums.)
  3. The question makes me laugh because back when I marched never in a million years would I ever think I would see/hear this question. But to answer your question - No.
  4. Please, I'm begging you, and everyone else, where is it that I said anything even slightly resembling the words indicating that I think this year's show is not top quality and worthy of contending? As a matter of fact, I said in my last post: "I'm not doubting one bit that this is probably the best show the Bluecoats have ever put on the field and will only get better." I really wish people would read what others wrote before they then write something that is completely out of context. I must stress again that I think the quality of this corps is great. The drumline is smokin'. I know nothing about horns and guard so I can't even go there. The hornline sounds good to me and I really don't even pay attention to the guard. I can't even compare the drill to other corps, because I just don't have the knowledge to determine what drills are "better" or "harder" than others. Basically I'm just a "Joe Fan" with a little more knowledge than the average bear because I once marched who happens to not care for the Bluecoats show this year. That's it.
  5. Dude, you need to get a clue. First, show me where I'm being "OVERLY NEGATIVE TOWARDS THE CORPS". And second, where did I EVER write ANYTHING about "electronics, Bb horns, new sounds"? I have NEVER, EVER, EVER said anything in ANY post EVER on DCP about not liking that stuff. Well, maybe once or twice about electronics, in general. I'm not doubting one bit that this is probably the best show the Bluecoats have ever put on the field and will only get better. Where did I say it wasn't? I just don't like it. I DO bleed blue. They are my former corps and I will support them 'til the end. But I do not have to like what they do. I didn't like the show, that's my opinion. Deal with it. Once again, show me where I "express dislike for my corps". Never once said that. Also, where did I "go on the offensive about it"? Again, get a clue. Baristeve, I've read a lot of your posts over the years on DCP. You are... Well, just not worth my time, let's just say that. Again, why do I HAVE to like what the Bluecoats do just because I once marched there? Is that a rule? A law? Something I missed somewhere along the line? Help me out. Yay for you for enjoying the videos. Most people are. It just doesn't do anything for me. Did you people even read the entire thread. I made a comment early on about seeing the debut show at Granville High School and I wasn't impressed. Then based on some comments I said that I would give it a chance again once I saw it in a "real" show setting. I did, and still didn't like it. I also didn't care for Crown. I've liked them a lot the past few years, but their show didn't do anything for me either. But you know who's show I really liked last night? Cavies. Even with all of their electronics Mr. Iceman. I really enjoyed their show. Boston's was pretty cool too. How about you people just crawl back under your rocks and accept the fact that just because I marched Bluecoats at one time doesn't mean I have to automatically worship them every year.
  6. Okay, I just got back from the Akron show a little while ago where I was able to see the Bluecoats in an actual show setting. Three words: Was. Not. Impressed. Don't get me wrong, the drumline plays their butts off (I'm a drum guy) and I'm sure the horns and guard are great, etc., but their show does nothing for me. And Asphalt Cocktail is BORING. Sorry.
  7. Ken is right, I'm not being a "naysayer", I just wasn't impressed. You know, just because I marched Bluecoats at one time doesn't mean I automatically have to like them and think they are the greatest thing since sliced bread. To be completely honest, I don't particularly care for their shows hardly ever. It's just not my cup of tea. They are my former corps and I will contintue to support them, but I don't have to like them. The main problem I had with Saturday's show was that we were sitting kind of low (as was everyone) and I literally couldn't hear the drumline 90% of the time because the freakin' pit was way too loud. And after all the hype on here, Asphalt Cocktail did absolutely nothing for me. Maybe once I see them in Akron, I'll have a different opinion, but until then, my thoughts are still valid.
  8. Al Marshall posted pictures on Facebook from Saturday. Are you friends with him?
  9. I went to the special showing on Saturday and I wasn't impressed.
  10. Someone please explain to me what the holy heck the color of a drum head has to do with the sound? That just sounds like complete nonsense. And please be ready with some facts because I'm an engineer and I need facts.
  11. I'll scan some stuff this weekend and contact you by PM.
  12. I could send you some of the snare parts I had in high school in 1984, but I think you probably want something a little more "drum corps like".
  13. Do you have a multi camera version of the 1986 Bluecoats? We finished 15th that year. Thanks,
  14. So what's the "drum corps etiquette" for fans leaving and entering between shows? Do we now have to sit in our seats for the entire evening of shows? Or if we don't get there in time are we banished to watch from the tunnel all night? I guess we can always come and go when INT is performing. But wouldn't that be rude also?
  15. BD - 82% Cadets - 84% Cavaliers - 73% SCV - 86%
  16. I apologize in advance to my fellow Bluecoats, but HERE are the REAL six words: http://www.chacha.com/question/what-are-th...and-bugle-corps
  17. I agree. And I'm not one of those "dinosaurs" that just doesn't understand modern conveniences either. I would still rather sleep on a nice hard flat gym floor than on an air mattress.
  18. Sweet! Thanks. You can close this if you want.
  19. I did a search and couldn't find it. Could someone tell me who the person is that made those drum corps miniatures? I would like to see if he could make something for me. Thanks!
  20. I have an mp4a of Bluecoats '82 show. It's 21mb so I don't know how I could get it to you. A guy I marched with has them all on a server from his church that he gave me the password to. I can't give out the password, but if you can think of some other way to get it to you, it's your's.
  21. The Bluecoats are tweaking their uni a little. They showed it at the March camp. I wasn't there, but a friend of mine told me. Don't know what the changes are, but I don't think they are major.
