  1. Seems everyone wants ot jump the bandwagon after reading one post. If you would take the two minutes it took to read everypost on here, you wouldn't waste time beating that deadhorse. READ POST 9. francis...
  2. It doesn't matter that woodwinds aren't in DCI. The numbers taken are actuals, not hypotheticals. Second point: what is the point of drum corps then? It seems that 3/4 of us don't know.
  3. You can't have a bunch of smaller corps. The big dogs keep upping the membership numbers so they can take all the talent. Less kids left to make up those smaller corps.
  4. No hypothetical about it. From the attendance thread. There were 17,500 people at a championship show. There are 3-1 votes hating woodwinds in drum corps, from this thread. Take the 3/4s of 17,500 and you come up with 13,125 that hate woodwinds. Now take half away for people that don't care and you still have 6562 people that would hate drum corps. So who is hypothetical, a known number being divided by a known number, or your presumptions? If my math is off please enlighten me. I never claimed to be good at it.
  5. Just like amplified voice was. In three words I can sum it up. YOWZA, YOWZA, YOWZA.
  6. No, you change the tools you use and get something different to hit your thumb with, and call it evolution of your activity.
  7. No it really doesn't matter. You are right, i have to be wrong. I will be patiently waiting for those numbers. See you in a couple decades.
  8. Color it any way you want, it still isn't hard to know how many people came through your gates. How many tickets sold. They don't know this, really ? Not a very sound way to conduct business.
  9. They don't owe their fans anything. This is an attendance thread, why is everyone so upset with the request for those numbers. Smart PR? So you are saying the activity is hurting if they don't release their numbers? Why do they release them at baseball games, every game? Not just the good games. Like I said earlier, when you have nothing to hide, you hide nothing. Done with debate, the numbers won't be released and it doesn't matter.
  10. 2008 was over a looonnnngggggg time ago and the numbers aren't out for that, yet the numbers for the Cubs game will be released by the 8th inning of the game that day. Someone wants the numbers kept under the rug, for some reason. This really isn't my fight, but I find it funny that every year people ask the attendance question, and it is never released. WHY????? Lots of speculation and no answers. I will keep waiting patiently
  11. When they guard something so simple and asked for, then ya, you might be right. If you have nothing to hide, then you hide nothing.
  12. How many outsiders go to a show WITHOUT an insider? Would your niece have been there without you?
  13. Yeah, what he said. You should for sure spend your money and time listening to something you don't like.
  14. Judges love them some Devil. They would still win by 34 points.
  15. Really well thought out. I wonder if the paragraph police will arrest you? Too bad this thread was hijacked with inane my team is better than yours mantra. My team stinks, but I will always back them. Now what were you saying about some experience?
  16. Shoot for the corps you like, NOT the one with the best placement. You go for placement and you might have a long horrible summer. Life isn't about placement and the sooner you learn that the better. Remember this: Only one, ONE corps goes home the champ. Roll the dice, OR march somewhere with the corps you relate to musically and stylewise.
  17. I am merely pointing out my answer to his question. Somewhat tongue in cheek. I hate ring chasing. Too much is lost by people limiting their experience to only the top 3 or so. The closest I came to top 12 was 17th, ( 16th if you count a DQ, I don't ). I am still living those summers over in my head. The fun we had and the memories we made.
  18. By the way, in another thread it is being discussed as to whether drum corps has died, so it has to lose its soul if it dies, right? Proper runon sentence to be critiqued by the paragraph and runon sentence police.....
  19. Yes, because thats what this is all about. If a guy can't use proper paragraph development, he can't possibly have a valid point.
  20. The answer is only go to the corps that can win a ring otherwise everything is a total waste of your time and money. Only go to one corps and don't dare march anybody els.
  21. Actually that concludes that it is indeed dying. A few years ago, he would have been able to find a corps very close and in a very reasonable price range. Not so anymore. Now you have to SEARCH for the corps to join. They used to come looking for you.
  22. You gotta love ticketscammer. Maybe attendance would go up if they were gone and people could hand pick their seat and not pay a convience charge for the convience of dealing with a computer picking your seat. I am sorry, I forgot, all technology is good technology and everybody benefits from it, right Mike....
