  1. The article does not mention paid attendance just attendence. DCI was doing lots of advertisement for free tickets to former DCI members and band members. l wonder what actual paid attendance was?
  2. I always contact Ron Gunn "Inside the Foorty" guy. He ALWAYS has the best tickets available.not just for finals but all major shows
  3. Allentown will be August 6 and 7th 2010. Already ordered my tickets
  4. From the Vanguard website: A Request of our Friends, Fans, Family and Alumni June 25, 2009 The Santa Clara Vanguard would like to humbly request that our family, friends, fans and alumni refrain from expressing their support for the corps through the yell of "Vanguard!" in one of the silent passages of the 2009 program "Ballet for Martha." While we recognize that the enthusiastic yell has been a tradition for over a decade, this year's program utilizes silence as a point of dramatic effect, which could be diminished by a display of this type of planned support. We certainly welcome your spontaneous applause and enthusiastic appreciation throughout the program and in order to maximize the effect of the performers, we encourage you to enjoy the silent passages and take that time to reflect on the beauty of the program. Thank you so much for your continued support! The 2009 Santa Clara Vanguard members are looking forward to sharing "Ballet for Martha" with you this summer!
  5. Yes, I saw and heard the same thing in Annapolis. I was somewhat embarrassed for the activity. I took several people to their first drumcorps show. Upset yes, but not to the point of being disrespectful to the people who had no control over the nightmare. It was great to be in stands cheering the corps on. As far as my friends they were really impressed that the kids were so talented and dedicated to the activity and yes the had fun also.
  6. No doubt you are right and I don't dispute that point . But I think you must agree that the explanation with an apology to the ticket holders should have been posted on the DCI website. I guess what sorta got me mad was when I called DCI and complained they offered no apology just some bureaucratic explanation that we are looking into what had happened.
  7. What I find interesting about the alleged wrong seating charts that the stadium has many other events being held there throughout the year and this was the only event with the wrong seating charts? i am glad you were happy the way things were handled with your ticket mix up. Many people could not find any DCI event people to help them out and the ones they did could not offer any explanation or they said they were looking into the mix up. I called and e-mailed DCI the Monday after the show and their excuse was we are looking into what happened period. no apology nothing. I am hopeful DCI won't let this happen again. The show was great way to kick off the season and yes we would go again if they held it again.
  8. If they do I hope they don't have the seating nightmare like last year. they sold seats that did not exist. I had a group of nine and only four had actual seats, the rest sat where they could and hoped that the real seat holder didn't show.
  9. I am pretty sure if you go to guidestar.org you may find your answer
  10. I can't answer the first part since I do not smoke. Section J is I am pretty sure begins about the 40 yd line and goes to the lower end. The rows start from row 1 to row 34 or so. I would say that the seats may be pretty low to see much of the field drill .
  11. On May 19, 2007 (Armed Forces Day) brass players from around the world will conduct an EchoTaps event at all National Cemeteries, State Veterans Cemeteries, and American Battle Monuments Commission cemeteries overseas. Individuals, schools, and organizations are invited to be part of this unique tribute as performers or support volunteers. http://www.echotaps.org/
  12. Thanks to all of you I do appreciate your imput. I am gonna go for the high seats
  13. I want to order tickets for the Westminster Md. show and not sure how the stadium seating is set up. They have rows 1-8 then rows 9-20 and 21 and above . Any help is appreciated.
  14. You have the Middleton Tavern and right next door is McGarvey's could it be on of those places ?
  15. Here is a little info on the navy stadium : http://www.johnnyroadtrip.com/cities/balti...avystadiums.htm
  16. As posted on the DCI Website: Next year’s Southeastern Championship is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, July 14, 2007.

  18. It was posted last night outside J. Birney Crum Stadium the dates for 2007 Allentown show. It will be July 7th and July 8th 2007. Yep a Saturday and Sunday show. Also, overheard from a few people who were wearing DCI East volunteer shirts that 2007 will probably be the last year in Allentown. They lost a ton of money with the upper deck closed They did talk among themselves and those around them who care to join in that 4 sites have been preliminary discussed to host the show. UCONN - Rutgers - U of DEL. and U of Md.
  19. Many years ago ther was a contest held at Towson and it always sold out. Not sure what happen to the show but it was a pretty good place to watch a show.
  20. Bawker You are right I am looking forward to some 2006 shows,ie Phantom ,Vanguard, Madison. I really don't mind the amplification as long as it stays in the pit. But personally I think you cross the line when you add voice to the amplification. I know last year in Allentown the big joke going around was Yowza, Yowza , Yowza from the Blue Devils. They would have had a better crowd response if the voice was not there. From where I sat many people gave the polite applause. I think that was not typical BD. In 2000 when Boston did their Red show when the whole corps did a vocal part (without amps) it really did fit into the show.,and the crowd loved it. On another thought just because I don't post alot I don't think you need to be immature in your response. I think if you grow up and learn other people have opinions that are not agreeable to yours you must accept that and move on. Maybe more pepole like me will be more active in this forum.
  21. After hearing the voice clip I know I'll be heading to the exit before the Cadets hit the field. I thoguht it was awful and does not belong in drumcorps. <**> Then again drumcorps died a few years ago.
  22. I did a Google search and came up with this. I am not sure how current but it's worht a try. http://www.bsgoldenknights.org/History.pdf
