Show started at 7:05pm (almost 30 minutes early) here in the New Orleans area. Glad we got to the theater early!

Ya, for many, many years I was one of those who gave up sleep to get the best seats. However, I don't know that I'd like going back to that process. Just think of how upset you would be if you sat/stood in line for that amount of time only to find out you couldn't get tickets between the 30's. At least now, the disappointment can take place within the comfort of your home.

This year's DCI Championship practically collides with the public school schedule in central Indiana. - Wed. Aug 5th - Sat. Aug 8th ... DCI Championships Public schools central Indiana - Mon. - Fri. Aug 3rd - 7th ... 1st week of Fall Sports practice (multiple sports & levels) ... some go from 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM ... ... ...Marching Band practice ... some started prior to this week - Wed. Aug. 5th ... Student schedule pick up - Thu. Aug. 6th ... Orientation for new students - Mon. Aug. 10th ... Teachers & Staff report - Wed. Aug. 12th ... 1st day of School - Fri. Aug. 14th ... 1st Varsity football scrimmage Add to this .. some teachers will be in school next week (Aug. 3rd - 7th) getting ready for the 2009-2010 school year Just wait until next year when finals are on August 14th!

For the 2010 championships, most of the prime seating areas are not available to "regular" customers, as DCI has blocked them out unless you are a "Friends of DCI" member. Furthermore, many 100 level seats that are "Premium" this year, become "Super Premium" next year, meaning they'll cost a lot more.

Maybe we need some additional narration to explain what the talking in the show has to do with the marching and playing.

I did email DCI earlier this week with essentially the same question you did. The answer I got was, "Stay tuned for updates as we get information finalized." Glad you got a more definitive answer than I did.

Any chance that long-time ticket purchasers will be allowed an advance purchase opportunity?

Just send DCI an e-mail and they will let you know your seat assignments. Worked for me. Why they haven't sent e-mail or paper copy receipts is beyond me though.
