I was at this show in 1991 and couldn't believe my eyes and ears when Star did their show. Still, one of my all-time favorite shows.

Exhibition show? Why not go ahead and do a full fledged DCI show? That's a shame. There are some good HS bands in the El Paso area (or at least there used to be). It would have been good for the kids to see that.

No disrespect toward the corps at this show, but why are tickets only $12 for any seat? If it was all these corps plus the Blue Devils, would the price be the same? If the lineup was exclusively the top 7 corps from Finals last year, would the price be the same? If I lived in the area, I would still go to this show. In fact, back in 2006, I attended my first Div II/III DCI show in Frisco and was wowed by Academy then and thought they could be competing in World Class.

Sorry if the answer is nearby and I didn't dig deep enough.

A dollar from 583,000 of us? That would have been easy. But what's the upkeep and taxes on that place? It would have been a money pit.

Please, oh please, DCI don't ever consider Cowboy Stadium in Dallas (Arlington) for a regional/Finals show. Saw a U2 concert there, and anybody sitting in the 300 level or above couldn't hear a thing.

Was it too dangerous for all the amps/speakers/microphones plugged in that a little rain will delay a show? Another reason to get rid of amps.

Maybe this is where Finals should be held every year for the next 10 years? I would definitely consider going here.

It seems there has been an unusual number of show cancelations due to weather this year. How many does tonight's make? Or is this about the same number of shows that are canceled each year? In the 3 years that I marched, I can't remember any show being canceled because of weather. The only weather event I do remember was after we marched (and dealt with a strong cold front that blew through during our show in MA somewhere), 27th Lancers went on after us and the same wind storm blew through their show. So, they stopped during the middle of their show and were allowed to start over.

No, I haven't seen any corps this year. That's why I was asking why people think the Crossmen aren't doing well.

So, I'm curious what you think the reason is for the Crossmen not doing well this year. Is it because they are a young corps and you can't teach young players to play musically, march correctly, etc? Or is it because of the way the music/show is written, and if that's the problem, couldn't you make adjustments during the season?

If tonight's events cause DCI to move all future big time shows to domes, then cancelling the show wasn't the only tragedy that will have happened tonight.

1980, one my all time favorite years in DCI and one of my fav championship shows. Congrats. And 27th was awesome that year as well.

When I say, "And you're the Cadets", what I mean by that is the Cadets are well known for their excellence in many categories, drums being one of them. And they are also known for turning it up a notch at Finals. Like I said, if I read a lot of reviews from people that were there tonight saying the drumline had an off night, then I'll go with that.

It's just my opinion. It doesn't mean I'm right or wrong. It's just how I feel about it. If there are a lot of comments from the crowd tonight that said, "Wow HNC were great, except their drumline was just off" then I'm more apt to believe the 8th place score.

Just coming in on this thread (haven't read all the comments). But I too have a problem with Cadets being placed 8th in perc tech. I figure that cost HNC at least .5 pts, which would have placed HNC firmly in 2nd place overall. Having a bad night is one thing, but dropping from 3rd to 7th overall in drums from one night to the next AND you're the Cadets...well, something is really askew.

I would love to see and feel the roar of the crowd in person when the Troopers enter the field tonight for their first Finals appearance in 23 years. But since I can't, I imagine the next best thing would be to hear it over a cell phone. So, from one drum corps nut to another, would anyone attending tonight be willing to call me so that I can live this historic moment with you? I would be forever in your debt.
