  1. how can you make a comment like that?!? do you ever ever ever EVER think before you post?!? like seriously? ya know there were REAL ppl that busted their ###es to be at that corps that year....REAL ppl the busted their ###es to perform that show that year.....and for you to make the blunt comment that they didnt exsist?? get over yourself, you start stuff on Facebook where people dont like you, and you continue to do your usual damage with immature posts here on DCP.... and you do your whining by making sure you have a well-typed out grammatically correct response and state that its YOUR opinion and there should be nothing wrong with that, wah wah wah. I think you should just count your blessings that DCP doesnt display where you live so you can cowardley make all your childish posts behind the comfort of a computer screen. You have an extremely 'loud' opinion in this activity for someone who contributes nothing to it
  2. are you really serious?? read his post again and think about your response
  3. and also because of Hopkins causing a big stink, semis and finals were very well kept as far as hashes and yardlines....so some positive results did come about
  4. BD's battery feature in their opener...while they are moving the bodies back and forth. It's some pretty sick playing
  5. there is some real solid talent in Hawaii to.....do kids from there usually march drum corps?
  6. ok, but on a serious note....i havent really looked at the recap until now (someone posted it in this thread). But I have seen both shows plenty of times via season pass to really wonder how BD even won visual ensemble let alone by almost a half a point....is visual ensemble the cleanlinest of the drill from an overall package from higher up?? because there was some extreme dirt in that closer, and a few other sections to get them a 19.8 in visual (highly inflated IMO) but compared to the visual package and demand the Cadets put out, four tenths seems way to much which if anything that should've went the other way....especially given how much down time from marching BD had. and two more that stick out to me is the spread for the colorguard score and music ensemble. I dont see how BD's guard even beat out the CBCCG let alone by two tenths, and the extreme spread in music ensemble. I DO however agree with some of the other caption scores....I just think that with some of those spreads a few of those judges had a hidden agenda on finals night
  7. im sorry but thats stupid....after all in the grand scheme of life, it really is JUST drum corps, or summer marching band to 95% of the world...honestly though, shunning?
  8. i enjoy watching the narrators warm up their mics and review their lines
  9. Orlando Florida!!!!!!!!!!!!!! now that im aged out and a fan :(
  10. Its either The Cadets or Bluecoats for me.....Honestly I dont know how bluecoats didnt win brass this year, but they are so much fun to listen to, with an amazing sound!
  11. not an option to vote, but whoever wrote the Troopers drill should get a shout out! because that was some equally impressive writing IMO. As far as this list, Jeff Sacktig hands down!! also Pete Weber....now if only SCV could clean his amazing drill than you might see them back in the top 2.
  12. are you serious?? it really wasnt that hard...and he didnt say it was a bad move, but he was pointing out how it was an easy yet effective move. dont be upset many corps do it
  13. actually we didnt warm up anywhere near the stadium in allentown...we knew to go far away from the stadium because of how loud we were when we warmed up. We even walked past Phantom and SCV hornlines and probably were a good 150 yards further than they were and purposely faced away from the stadium (as all hornlines do) and we still got a call after Philip Bliss that we were able to be heard from the stands, so that happened to be one of two times this year we couldnt finish our full warmup routine with Rocky Point because we were heard from the stadium. This was one of the louder hornlines Gino put out in awhile, and we knew coming out of move-ins that warmups were going to be a challenge because of how loud we were this summer. I'm sorry, maybe the Cadets will tone the volume down next summer
  14. agreed......cavies def. got the benefit of the doubt for their name. but this was probably the dirtiest and weakest performance level from them this decade by far. although i did enjoy some of their show quite a bit it just wasnt 3rd caliber. my picks based off jared's idea of moving phantom to 3rd 4th - coats 5th - cavies 6th- SCV 7th- Crown Crown and SCV are a tough one because they have such diverse execution levels from different captions. But SCV's show had much more demand so i would give them the nod. Coats got screwed IMHO....what a hornline and drumline they had! and a very cool show package. better luck to the judges next year
  15. ok....well as a member of the Cadets i wouldn't even suggest that show to people for a first time viewing....BUT if it means anything, i did show the 2007 show via season pass to a bunch of kids i teach about a week ago (many happened to be their first drum corps viewing) and many of them loved it and some are wanting to go to Cadets. Now i know that isnt a universal response that everyone would have to that show....but they loved it. so i guess it isnt THAT ineffective
  16. 9 world championships....3 in his first 4 years as a kid who freshly aged out, I wouldnt exactly say he's a failure.....i'd say after running the Cadets 25+ years and putting out some of the best drum corps packages of all time, he's entitled to put in whatever he wants.
