  1. That's the thing I like about WGI. You can play any type of music and win with it. I thnk if you listen to enough pop music, you can find diamonds in the rough. And with a little change you can easily make it into a marching song. I was listening to Beyonce's new song DeJaVu. (which happen to have some horn licks in it) And thought that i could easily see this on the field with just some harmonic progressions. Kanye West uses alot of samples from the 70's and 80', as do many other rap and r&b artist. Good music lives forever. You'd be suprised how many rap songs people hate, that came from songs from the past that they love. I guess my point is that pop mucis can work, just like any other music, if its done right. I'm sure people had the same discussion when jazz music was beiong played alot.
  2. Hey the NMP is sending 5 corps. (Sorry, first year with some new groups in a new league, gotta keep em together)
  3. Wow, you gave me so much credit, and then took all way with that comment. Well Conundrum got their changes, and nothing changed. 3(or 4) out of five ain't bad for your kids. The NMP just wanted a little bling to take back to KY that's all.. we were just trying to defend the South.
  4. Well, I guess 2 out of 3 ain't bad. I'm very proud of how the NMP represented themselves this weekend, on and off the field. 4 finalist, 3 medalist, and 2 champions goes well beyond our expectations thus far. We're gonna take a couple of days off and enjoy New Orleans and we may preactice a litte before the next contest. The groups are having fun in the DCPI circuit and hope they are gaining some credibility as a corps amongst the other vetrans in the league.
  5. The NMP is pretty pleased with how prelims went. Although Nastalgia Jazz didn't make finals, They took advantage of their time off to go check out some New Orleans jazz scenery. Maybe this will give them a little boost to get back into form for the rest of the season. The four other corps that made finals are placing a "special closer" on to the show in honor of the ending of the World Cup. It'll only be done here so be sure to catch it.

The corps are all in a good frame of mind after travelling and looking foward to performing again tonight. Some changes were made in the percussion ensemble's show, hopefully clearing some things up.
