  1. So.....about these "Cups" the champions get.....
  2. Oops, my bad on the "In room movie entertainment"
  3. Wow, what a season for the NMP organization. 2nd title for the organization and another season where all groups makes finals. This year was pretty tough as everybody about had the same idea. Congrats to KoP and all other corps that competed this season. It was truly a fun one.
  4. I should arrive sometime after 2. I'll call or facebookk somebody when i get there.
  5. Well ii'm happy to go to Indy with a title. Hopefully Nastalgia Vanguard can hold on. Congrats to all Open and A Finalist. NPE had an up and down season and we are okay with a finals appearance. Tonight should be very intresting.
  6. Yeah, Kentucky weather can get a little whacky every now and then.
  7. Well, it looks like somebody liked our new ending. The NMP is looking fowards to finals week. We may pull back a little to make sure we don't win Prelims.
  8. Mine will be in right before the deadline. *I teach class til 11:30.
  9. It's about that time gentlemen. I'm getting ready to reserve my hotel now. Will be in on Saturday. Anybody have an idea when and where we are going to meet up.
  10. Wow, this weekend is going to be fun.. The MMP is finally getting back into form. Gonna spend the next few days putting our new ending on the field and hopefully it'll get clean enough to do some damage. On a side note: Thinking about shifting some things around next live season to give our corps' some more motiviation. Don't be surprised to hear the Nastalgia Knights from Malibu, California announced by Crocker next live season.
  11. SS: "We shall not go quietly into thy goodnight" says The Knights. The defending champs showed why they have that title tonight. Their staff looked pumped during the performance tonight. Very solid brass sound, which we are use to hearing from the corps. They capped off a great night of drum corps. Well that's it folks. You have witnessed some of the best corps in the world here tonight and I hope you enjoyed all of them. Socres will be announced soon. But in the meantime in between time, i'm getting ready for this after party. For ESPN and Chris Berman, I'm Stuart Scott, and I'm OUUUUUTTTT!!!
  12. SS: If there was a Caption for Creativity, Velour Knights would have 54 consecutive titles. Even though that's not the case, they are still pretty freaking awesome. Great all around program that has some pretty substantial musical material. Last but not least, the Defending World Class Champs...The Knights.
  13. SS: Drum Corps Time Machine? Thats what it felt like. Nastalgia Vanguard took the most intense Drum Corps songs of old , modernized them and put even more intensity into them. It was a blast from the past and had the old corps vets bowing to them at the end of the show. Percussion was on fire tonight and the brass put "them" through the horn. Next up on the field....Velour Knights
  14. SS: All I have to say is the closing set is of five F's, and that's about how loud the California Knights played that last chord. Wow, what a strong brass section. Hope Nastalgia Vanguard can bring it while the audience readjusts to their seats.
  15. SS: Great Lakers, Great Run. Color Guard really brought the show to life tonght. These have been flying under the radar but decided to show itself tonight. Coming on the field next....California Knights
  16. SS: The Crimson Lions just stepped off the field and left a lot of heart out there. This rookie corps is shaping up to be one to mess with. Very unique marching style they posses but it seems to be working for them. Most definately a group to look for in the future. Up next...Great Lakers
  17. Stuart Scott: And we are back live from WKU and if you missed Open Class you missed something special. Star of Hawaii came out with some power. They showed why they are an annual powerhouse with thier innovative show design. The Tokyo Tornadoes made a long trip made a long trip to the Bluegrass state, but did not show any signs of jet lag. Their show was very energetic and kept the audience on the edge of their seats. Pat Metheney may want to send Nastalgia and thank you card because his record sales may sky rocket after Nastalgia's performance tonight. This group always play with a relaxed intensity and the show fits them like glove. VK Too let it do what it do when they do the voodoo that they do so well. Very cool show and the crowd had a ball. Les Blanc Chevaliers rounded out class with a performance that said that they wanted to repeat as CLASS Champions. Beautifully executed and very effective show. This class will be very interesting. World Class has started and we have seen some strong shows thus far. After the break the Crimson Lions will begin the second half of the class. In the meantime, Chris Berman will report on this corps and their rookie debut in the circuit. Chris Berman: Thanks Stu. The inaugural season of this central WI corps, the Butte des Mortes Crimson Lions, has so far been a close reflection of their show's story. Loud and proud, these farmer and fishermen kids had a real rough go early on, but with perserverance and a lot of hard work, this group really is beginning to shine. Their show is a fairly simple story, powerful and dramatic, yet the visuals of war could be what is keeping that portion of the score consistently low. "Blood on the Snow" is a classic tale of a proud army, bravely following the new commander - little knowing the twisted black heart he carries ["White Army, Black Baron"]. The army is marched into villages, which then get sacked and plundered ["Hide Your Daughters"]. When the baron is attacked by a villager, he orders the destruction of all the villages ["Eve of Destruction"]. The army becomes horrified by what they have done and turn on the baron and his retinue, slaying them all ["Blood on the Snow"]. To quench the ache they feel, the army returns to the villages and do all they can to help rebuild and defend them from their former countrymen ["Burning Bridges"]. The Crimson Lions have enjoyed an incredible season so far, but have yet to actually win a competition. The way things are going though, taking 1st in an upcoming show could very well happen soon. Stuart Scott: Thanks Chris. We'll be back
  18. Stuart Scott: (I'd thought that baseball game would never end, oh we're live) Hello Ladies and Gentlemen and welcome to Hilltopper Country. For we are here at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky for the DCPI CLASS Championships. Some of the best drum corps in the country are competiting here tonight and the compitition has been fierce thus far. The All Age Corps started the show off and showed us that they still have it after all these years. Dunkirk Patriots started the show off with a bang as their percussion section show no gitters playing some pretty clean notes for an all age corps. Both the Glorius and Imperical Marching Brigades showed off their visual expertise as they marched circles (perfect ones at that) around the other corps. The Oostburg Barnstormers had a very well rounded show that could compete with the Junior corps on some level. Triglav and MN Madness left the crowd speechless with their very entertaining shows. But not onlly that, but those brass lines had some power behind them. It's gonna be a tough call to say who takes this class. Moving on to the A Class Corps, I like to call these guys small but mighty. Alpha Orbit and Titanium came out first and laid down some improved performances from the previous week. Home corps Nastalgia Percussion Ensemble found them self in a unfimilar third performing spot, as they've been performing bad lately. But after tonight's performance they may be back in the hunt with their percussion section (go figure) on fire tonight. VK3 came out put a performance on the field that may give them the title tonight. Always very entertaining, VK3 had the crowd on their feet for the majority of their show. But Cape Cod Regiment may have something to say about it. Very well executed show by these guys and girls tonight. Phenomal music program may allow them to repeat as A Class CLASS Champions tonight. Open Class Corps have started competiting and we'll have a break down of those performances later tonight.
  19. ESPN Coverage of the CLASS Championship will begin at 5 PM CST after Pardon the Interuption. (aka- will begin after i get home from teaching band camp)
  20. I mean do i need to move Nastalgia Vanguard down to open, or change their name to Nastalgia Knights. Oooo, has a nice rings to it....
  21. The NMP is taking a hit right now. Groups did not have good runs while in TX and have allowed themselves to slip down in the rankings. If this past weekend jeopardizes any of the groups chances to perform in the Masters show on Friday, heads will roll.
  22. It's back!!! ESPN will (hopefully) be presenting live from the CLASS Championships this year. As usual Stuart Scott and Chris Berman will be there with their thoughts on the performances throughout the night. To help them out, PM me info about your show and strenghts of your corps.
  23. A mix between generated scores and more corps competing head to head against each other is my guess.
