Current (4 March) is $4.259/gallon. Price is Right rules - Closest without going over. Get your predictions in by 1 June. Winner gets a vintage Drum Corps t-shirt (from my magical drawer that makes all the clothes within shrink a size or 2). I predict diesel at $7.21/gal.

True, but I don't see anything on the horizon that would suggest prices will come down any time in the foreseeable future.

OFF topic - but when I was in south Louisiana there were a lot of Vietnamese refugees that had settled there. The weather was similar (in FL you get breezes & pm thunderstorms, not in LA), the crops were similar, & the Cajuns, having been refugees themselves in late 1700s, were very welcoming to them.

MREs were a big step up from the C-rats of old. Except some of the C-rats had cigarettes included.

Diesel is also more expensive than gas in coastal Virginia as well. But DCI never comes to coastal Virginia.

I recall a story about Bridgemen in late 1970s when they were served popcorn for a meal. Blue Devils were supposedly at the same housing site & some of the Bayonne guard went over to visit & get some of BD's chow.

Electric vehicles need to be charged - and finding a location near housing sites would be problematic. You can't just run an extension cord to the vehicle & plug it in. It requires a dedicated circuit, and even with these it can take 8 hours to charge an electric car battery alone. Busses will require even more power. Maybe a small, towable nuclear power-plant could be added to the convoy to provide charging for the vehicles at the housing site.

To be fair - the vast majority of pageantry leeches are not child molesters / sex offenders.

Biology professor here - parasites are important ecologically; don't besmirch them by lumping them in with those who personally profit off the labors of the youth in the activity. Parasites are cool (& off-topic - the people who wrote the movie Alien understood parasitology & really got it right. I show clips to some of my classes.)

Back in the day of Saint Vincent of Green Bay there was a heating system installed under the turf. From what I understand sometimes it worked well, other times not so much.

Counselor - I'm not a lawyer (but I have played one on television), so please correct me if I am interpreting this incorrectly. This was a civil litigation. I think if If there were criminal acts that happened regarding the dispute, then the appropriate prosecutor would need to file criminal charges & a whole new legal process would begin. Is this correct? And as an aside, I suspect George & Patsy B. would not be very happy with this whole situation.

Asking for legal bill donations is fine. But I would really be surprised if much more than a total of ~$1k is raised in this appeal. Non-profits that successfully solicit for legal bills often have legions of very supportive followers (i.e., NRA, ACLU, WWF, Nature Conservancy, etc). The Drum Corps community, let alone 27th Lancers, has nowhere near this level of support.

I was referring to someone currently w/ Cadets who needs another job to help w/ legal bills. You, on the other hand would actually be effective at cleaning out the BS in the activity- for that reason alone you wouldn’t be hired.

There may be a woman w/ DC experience currently in the Allentown area that may be available. 😎
