  1. Ha- you guys were a little busy!! It was great though- loved it. And thanks for your insights.
  2. I love lamp, and DCI telecast on ESPN!! The broadcast is excellent for ESPN, just as Terrence's polls are excellent for DCP. :)
  3. And even that doesnt tell the whole story- at the exact same time that Chuck Norris' roundhouse kicks were being performed, Mr. T was simultaneously pitying George Lucas, Hayden Christenson, everyone else involved with the movie, everyone watching the movie, anyone who would ever buy the movie, all members of the star wars fan club, and in fact anyone who had ever said the word "NOOOO!!" in their life. This stream of pity was so intense that the universe actually collapsed, creating an alternate universe where we currently serve as Mr. T's mind slaves (a la The Matrix) :P
  4. This? If you mean when they killed Marge, here it is: Yeah, I used an entire roll of film on "Faust" without knowing it. So I've got some good shots up until I ran out of film. The film ran out after the first hit in the Mahler. I was mad!!
  5. Please, no. That is by far the worst line, from any movie, EVER. Never again, for the love of sunshine, and music and drum corps and all else that is good and decent. Remember: Lisa Loeb walked out of the theater when Vader said that. :P
  6. Uh oh.... watch: by the time they get it all straightened out, it'll be too late, and the 2007 DCI World Championships will be the first ever held in a remote high school stadium somewhere in the general vicinity of Pasadena...
  7. Yeah, it is really hard to choose! That's why I made the poll- cause it's hard to just pick one.
  8. here Studio Tan just updated some of the old ones.
  9. HAH!!! b**bs I like that one more already... I agree the visual is intense though!
  10. OK- I was thinking about this today while listening to my Cavaliers playlist: The Cavaliers are probably one of the most consistently entertaining drum corps around- every year, they put out a real enjoyable total package- you can't help but love the Green Machine! With that said, heres the question: Which modern-era Cavaliers show do you like the best? I say modern, because to me it seems like since the beginning of this decade, they've really nailed down the unique "Cavaliers" sound we know and love- the 90's brought us The Planets, Firebird, and Classical Innovations; then they sort of found their new identity with the Saucedo/Kuhn original music sound.... so which of those shows is your favorite? I voted Four Corners, but that's closely followed by Machine and Frameworks.
  11. CAVALIERS!!! That was awesome, any way you look at it! That was one of the most witty and clever, and yet awesome shows I've ever seen!
  12. Yoda voice, in that DCI Battle of Finals with what now is added. hornarcWild
  13. Have you heard 1998? Maybe I'm just a fan of Borodin's music, but WOW! Dreams of Gold is one of my favorite shows EVER.
  14. Great thread idea! Spirit: Only saw them once in mid july, but I do remember they were LOUD!!! They also featured many solos, I especially liked the contra solo. I liked the show quite a bit from what I remember. Glassmen: I didn't have any problem with the show, but, well, I thought they could have chosen better music. I was hoping there would be some "Pathetique" sonata in there, or maybe some of the third movement of the "Moonlight." It was an enjoyable show though, no problems here.
  15. I wasn't particularly captivated by BK, but crown was good.
  16. Actually, I quite liked Cadets' (brass) arrangement of Sanvean. In fact, most of their brass book was nicely arranged from the source material (at least what parts of it I recognized), but Sanvean stands out. A great, great ballad- for the second year in a row. (Let the war begin...) And of course the obvious best arrangement: JD Shaw and PR's amazing book. WOW!!!!
  17. What other drum corps comes to mind when you think of a gangster/mob show? Part Blue was right up BD's alley- no one else is "bad" enough to give it a go!! (And IMO, BD owns the rights to any mob themed show ever- if any other corps does one, they should probably at least form the BD logo at the end... B) )
  18. I'm with the guy that said emotion. What sells a show for me is a great ballad. My favorite shows this year were Regiment, Cavalers, and Bluecoats- and I don't think it's a coincidince that they all had great ballads. One of the first shows I download next will probably be BAC- for the same reason. I also love emotion in the fast, loud stuff. Seeing PR lean back and tear the stadium apart during Scythian Suite was amazing!! If it's music you can crank up to maximum volume until the walls are vibrating and the neighbors are screaming and calling the police, it's a great show. But it's gotta have a melody you can sing. :) As for "Bad A**," I love the screaming trumpet solos and high stuff. This isn't my favorite type of show (see above) but BD 2004 is AMAZING!!! I can sort of play one of those solos, but I listen to it again and am like "Wow, that is simply amazing!!!" then I replay it over and over and over... b**bs
  19. If your birthday is after June 1, you CAN march while you're 22, since you won't turn 22 until everydays. My birthday's not- therefore I have three years of eligibility left. The summer where I'm 19, the summer where I'm 20, and the summer where I'm 21. edit: clarity
