  1. If you understood, you wouldn't be asking. Those that do know will understand.
  2. I wonder how he feels now that "those Bluecoats" have beaten his corps. The fat lady has sung.
  3. In two to three years, they will bring home the organizations first championship. They must get rid of the white pants.
  4. This new, to me, pretty much ensures that Coats will finish 5th and Cadets will pass them up. Who knows, Santa Clara may even pass them up by finals. He has consistently scored Coats gaurd lower than the other color gaurd judges all season. Then again, God does work miracles. Maybe his score won't be enough to make that big of a difference.
  5. Dark Horses 2004-----Bluecoats 2005-----Bluecoats This year, I see Phantom winning and Bluecoats finishing 3rd. Cadets in 6th would be nice.
  6. Not a big fan of Hop's complaining in this case. Did he complain last year when the Cadets in route to their championship. I have a prediction that if the Cadets beat Bluecoats, it will be contributed to his complaining about the judging.
  7. Your right, they did get better, not 4.5 better since Atlanta. I don't buy this at all. The judges are giving them something that they have needed during the past two seasons: hope.
  8. I know, I know, slotting doesn't happen. Their gain of 4.5 is much higher than the rest of the corps in the top 6. Seems funny to me and no I am not fairly new to the activity. Hold on a minute, this just in, slotting does happen.
  9. With their point gain from Atlanta to the present, ask yourself, is it a push or a slot. Their point growth seems to good to be true. Sounds like slotting to me.
  10. I just noticed that the Bluecoats closed the gap to 2.1 to take over BD's. Last year they were behind BD 2.25 and were only .8 behind them at finals. Many in this forum think Cadets will pass Bluecoats for 4th. I don't believe this will happen. It would not suprise me to see Phantom make a push for 1st and Bluecoats to overtake BD as well. Think what you want, I believe DCI will be rocked this year by Phantom winning it all and Bluecoats finishing 3rd. Cadets will not place better than 5th despite their complaining.
  11. I just had a conversation today with a fellow band director and professional musician (he actually plays in a orchestra to supplement income) about the score differentials in shows this year. His point was that there is very little difference between the top 5 corps this year. He went on to state that the Cadets are getting the benefit of the doubt. Maybe their reputation or complaining is working. Have you noticed how many different topics state somewher "Cadets"? He then said that the (in no order) Cavaliers, Bluecoats, PR and BD are pretty much on the same leve. It's just that some have won championships and one has not. My point is: cheer for your favorite corp, even if you think they are getting the shaft. In many circumstances, they are. Don't forget however, that we are not in control, the judges are and they have not seemed to figure this out as of yet. If they have, then all the complaining from corp directors would go in one ear and out the other. They are after all human.
  12. Anyone seen the new changes to bluecoats show. Was wondering if the ending had more of an impact?
