  1. When is the web site going up with the world class staff listings?
  2. Will you be posting the menu for camp?? Tater tots and checken nuggets I hope!!!!!
  3. When I was a kid and marching in the Northeasrtern Circuit in the late 70's, there was a corps from Rhode Island called the WARLORDS. I remember that had a Snare Drummer, Bass Drum, 5 horns and 3 guard.
  4. All I remember from last year was rain, rain and more rain. It was the submarine show, maybe the sun will shine this year
  5. and make sure you look into some type of water filtration device if you are getting water from a hose off a building.
  6. This is a Combo DCI/DCA question; This is a not an Old Timer DCA Question, this is not the 70's or 80's where most DCA corps march with members aged over 18 not under 18. This is not meant to keep any other corps out of this conversation, but with DCA Corps marching younger members these days and the incredible run that the Reading Bucs have been on, my question is.... How would the Reading Bucs do against this years top 12 DCI finalists?
  7. You also had to climb through a 3 x 3 hole to get into the press box to judge !
  8. If the Citations were smart, they should have seen this coming and should have a back up plan in place. There are plenty of people out there looking to teach in educate.
  9. This years Judging was one of the most inconsistant I have seen in years, and you know what, I was kind of ok with that. All we hear is slotting, slotting ,slotting, not as much this year. Each night I saw newer names on the sheets or some judges that judged fewer shows in seasons past, getting more shows this year. I did not see a lot of the names people have been complaining about for so many past seasons. Cadets may have had a bad night in drums last night and JJ was man enough to recognize it, Blue Stars dropped in Visual Performance, so what, maybe they had an off night too. That is the way it needs to be, don't judge a corps on thier past show to keep them in a certain slot, jusge them on that night's show. If they have an off night, score them that way. There was a lot of up and down movement in the top 12 this year. In past seasons, we all would see a corps in the top 5 pass anopther corps above them and it would stay that way pretty much till finals. I know every corps feels there is one judge out there that holds them back, but this year, I thought the judges did a better job on a nightly basis than they have done in past seasons. Just my 2 cents....
  10. Just be happy some of those kids can't afford marching with a DCI corps all summer, some of the DCA corps would not be marching at all without them.......
  11. forget Saturday, what do you do when your World Class corps didn't make it to Friday Night??? At least the Open Class corps have a show on Friday and then a quick turn around on Saturday Morning,,,,,
  12. The Raiders ALWAYS do this...they start out a little slow and then pass corps at finals, they have an great track record of cleaning and tightening everything up going into finals week.
  13. Each Corps has to purchase them from DCI, so for some corps, it maybe a matter of money.
  14. The Regional Touring is a good idea, do you really think they should have taken on 30+ shows the first year in World Class? And to the ones comparing Arizona's short schedule from the past couple of seasons, you can't even come close. I think if I remember it right, the thought was Arizona would make finals on a short schedule and people felt that was not "fair". Surf is no where close to making finals on a short schedule, they will probably be done on Thursday afternoon after the quarter finals.
  15. I've always thought sponsors also play a part in slotting, but that's another discussion for another day.
  16. I think this is when DCI should look into a corps and decide if they should even be allowed to go out on tour. Too many what if's could go wrong while they are out and hardly have any money to feed kids, gas up buses and anything else that would require a good chunk of money.
  17. This year has 2 interesting stories.......... The possible long awaiting return to the top 12 by the Troopers and The possible chance that the Crossmen may not make it past Thursday during finals week. Which do you think could happen???
  18. You have to defend judges, If not Dan would wave his finger at you.
  19. I touched on that in the off season and of course was trashed and called a Cadet hater. Colin is a great instructor and arranger, he was handed the job quickly and I think even HOP knew he had a large hill to climb. I think loosing both Tom and Neil at the same time was a major blow, but they should rebound if Colin sticks around for a few years.
  20. I was just looking at the recaps and WOW! Scores are all over the place, it looked like a recap from the 70's! Let's see how this weekend pans out, something tells me you won't be seeing those kinds of spreads in each caption.
