  1. I think there is a person named Galen at the show on the other thread.
  2. I'm wishing your brother good luck and a fine year!
  3. That is not even cool and so way over the top it's disgusting. This man has followed his kids throughout their Drum Corps experience spending thousands of dollars in the process. He is on this board because of his love for both the sport and his kids. It's one thing to judge a corps and the people who attend and their reactions but to judge a parent on their parenting skills, NO WAY!
  4. LDO, I have met people from this board at almost every show I have gone to. DCP can be harsh at times and I understand your frustration but I really don't think too many on this Board "BOO". CC and BD are going to be just fine, they are at the top of the pack so far on the west coast and both are going to be on each others heels the whole summer. My son aged out BD and I was all in a huff when BD got Boo-ed. BD has consistently been boo-ed for years, the kids are alright. The competition and the DCP Board wars is only warming up, it's going to get brutal as the season gets in full swing. Wait until after San Antonio, it'll get down right ugly both on here and at the shows, it's competition and we love our corps.
  5. This same thread topic is started every single year. The same type of responses are written year after year. This is the "No BOO-ing Thread 2013". Expect the following subjects to also be brought up in 2013: Should Drum Corps kids have to wear sunscreen? Should drum corps kids have to wear their shirts and have hats on? There are many more subjects that the people who had followed Sound Machine and now, DCP, will see repeated. As a Mom who has followed her kids all over the country since 1998 I have seen the 'all to familiar' questions. Understand, this is a Mom that may be new to the world of Drum Corps; it can hurt you to the core. You send your kids off on this crazy journey and pray they will be okay. As time goes by you join on this board for any information you can get at each and every show. Soon you grow a thick skin and smile and accept that it's going to be okay! In my case they kept going back and now one of them has taught every summer for the last 8 years. I still worry but I get by knowing it gets in your blood and although I have never marched my heart has been on many fields for many years. Give the new parents a break, drum corps life is hard to understand but after awhile you realize your kids are doing just fine and it's all good. :thumbs-up:/>/>
  6. I'm looking for the same answer. I wanted to watch a couple of the shows tonight over again but can't find a way on Fan Network.
  7. Great show, loved the guard's sheer flag effect. This is a great show.
  8. Me too, Wes, I love the guard colors, clean this up and I see BK moving up!
  9. You're rude as can be. Yes, I believe many of those kids will move up into world class. Do you think those young dedicated kids are out there getting their kicks? They are performing and working hard to be on that field; it sure beats just hanging out in front of a television set all day. Although my child is not on that field with BDC, I would be a darn proud Mom if he or she were!
  10. In light of the competition and all it's refreshing to hear the corps will get together and enjoy each other’s company. Those kids do something I don't think I could have ever done. Having two kids go through the experience was/is fantastic. What I've seen through the years is people who have marched Drum Corps have a brother/sisterhood alliance, similar to what we have on DCP. The actual corps you march with becomes your family. It’s a pretty cool the bond this sport has. Bravo!
  11. I like seeing the Colts peppered in there so much; I hope to see them do great this year. Their show should prove to be very entertaining.
  12. I like your predictions~ :thumbup:/> Double post, sorry. I like what Lannister1 says.
  13. I want to see: Colts - New staff, I like the music choices, and it's their BIG 5-0~ :thumbup:/> B.K. - I want to see what a new staff does for them. B.D. - Always entertaining, I always love the Guard and the hair blowback, gets me every time. Crown - Won me over with "Rock Star" can't get enough of them now. Cadets - Always entertaining. The Academy I want to get an opportunity to see them all from beginning to end!
  14. My son started teaching for the Colts this year. He called me Saturday concerned about Dakotah. When he received the news of his passing he called me again devastated. Dakotah was a special kid. My son played the trumpet when he marched so he has a soft spot for the horn line and he was looking forward to working with Dakotah this summer. Dakotah could play loud, work hard, and was an asset to the Colts. I know the family bond that a corps creates and this heartbreak will be felt by every member of the Colts. Our hearts are heavy in Colorado as we pray for his family, friends, and his Colts family; he will be truly missed by all. May God bless and comfort you through this time.
