  1. So fill me in with what the new ending drill looks like.... :P And by the way once again, the new ending music is saaaaweet. Can't wait to hear it next month if they don't change it at all.
  2. How did you watch the drill? Do you have a Season Pass?
  3. Cavies show is absolutely amazing. I have only heard it but just hearing it makes me afraid to see it because I can't begin to imagine all that is going on with thae drill and guard. It definitely got my attention General Effect Music wise.
  4. I bought the APD for Cadets show for San Antonio and the new ending is actually kind of sweet but I think that if the recording weren't so loud, you would be able to tell what the chord progressions are supposed to be in that section. You can tell that there still needs to be some work done to the new stuff but I personally like the new stuff in the end that Cadets have installed. Well, maybe the section is a little drawn out but like I said before, I think that if we were able to hear what was going on, it might not seem so long. Please share your thoughts for all of those who have also heard the changes. And if there is someone out there who has seen the new drill, give us a heads up as to what it looks like. Thanks.
  5. Toss up between 1998 SCV and 1998 Cadets
  6. To add onto my previous post, I will even go out on a limb and make brass and percussion caption predictions. Here are mine: BRASS: 1st- Blue Devils (Not very powerful right now but clean none the less) 2nd- Cavaliers (Very clean and technical) 3rd- Phantom Regiment (Most powerful hornline in DCI right now) 4th- Cadets (Can be very warm and very technical although they aren't the cleanest right now to take top 3 in brass in SA) 5th- Bluecoats (Very good hornline but not technical enough to take on top 4) PERCUSSION: 1st- Blue Devils (Can I say "wow" and that pit is amazing) 2nd- Phantom Regiment (I would say that should beat Blue Devils in SA but because of politics, BD will take drums) 3rd- Cavaliers (The most music drumline this season thanks to Casella but not enough to take PR or BD in SA) 4th- Cadets (Very demanding and the pit is excellent but drums won't be enough to take top 3 in SA) 5th- Bluecoats (Also very demanding and clean but because of politics, they won't take top 3 in SA)
  7. Though I can't make a prediction on the scores, I will make a prediction on the placement order for the evening show. Here's mine: 1st- Blue Devils 2nd- Cavaliers 3rd- Phantom Regiment 4th- Bluecoats 5th- Cadets 6th- Santa Clara Vanguard 7th- Madison Scouts 8th- Boston Crusaders 9th- Carolina Crown 10th- Blue Knights 11th- Glassmen 12th- Spirit of JSU
  8. Whoa, take her easy there partner. I was asking because I was mainly curious about the ending of the show musically and visually. I guess you missed that part of the thread in a later response that I posted. A new ending doesn't have to include props and amps. No harm done. Thanks for your reply.
  9. What about the new ending that they put in? I guess when I started this thread, I was thinking more about what the new ending is like and if it is different drill with the same ending music from last year. Or is it a different ending entirely?
  10. Since Cadets have recently made changes to their show, has anyone seen them or heard them? If so, do you think that the changes were positive or negative and can you actually recognize that a change has taken place?
  11. Bishtom, I don't think that the TEMP is the argument either. I think that everyone is talking from a general standpoint about the scores and the shows. Yes I will agree that it was hotter than the dickens over in the west this past week and being that I marched three years in drum corps, I can say that the temperature does have some effect on your performance, especially when your uniform doesn't breathe much and when you get the #### kicked out of you in that 100 degree weather all day. The amps that are being complained about are being brought up because look at the score statistics and the reviews of shows this year.....the corps that is using the most amplification and unnecessarliy so this year is the corps that should be receiving higher scores at this point in the game. Just my .02
  12. I just watched the video and all I can say is "wow". I think that there is some unbelievable talent in that group of young people. The hornline sounds like gold and it only helps them out that their ballad is absolutely beautiful. The drumline is sick.....SICK. They're getting so much better as time goes by. The guard seems good also. The work that they have during all of the ballad stuff around the pink table is beautiful and adds a nice touch to the warmth that the hornline and pit is producing. But like I am sure that people have said before, I think that the sabres should be saved for another section of the show. IMO they would be more appropriate during other times. They are good when up close but from the stands, white rifles work so much better. Especially from the audiences perspective. If the tables were closer to the audience and press box judges, the rifles would be just right. But none the less, they are incredible and yes I do think that they are actually getting the scores that they deserve right now. Other corps are executing their show better. Lets face it, Cadets have a hard show. Hard music wise, drill wise and also hard to understand because it is like a big fiasco at this point. They have learned new stuff and are currently making changes in the show to make it flow better and to make it more understandable. If you listen and watch closely and compare it to last years show, there is a lot in there that does create flashbacks of last years show which to me is genius. Yes I do believe that Cadets show this year is a tad bit cheesy and I don't agree with all that they have done in terms of 'pushing the envelope' but for right now, it can only make or break them and we all know that Cadets is the type of corps that drags in the beginning and then kicks butt in the end so give it some time. As the changes are incorporated, I think that the judges and audience will start to make sense of the show and it will work in their favor. Am I saying that Cadets are going to win? No. Am I saying that they won't win? No. I am saying that things take time to be understood just like anything else in life. I hope that someone out there can agree with me on this. Good day.
