  1. Sky Ryders played Camelot in 1991 (last year in finals) and Brigadoon in 1992
  2. Surprised all the rock haters haven't mentioned 1994 Glassmen...Moody Blues with big balls The strangest show I had ever seen up to that point..
  3. 1997...the horn re-entrance coming out of the drum solo in "Niner Two" still lifts me out of my seat every time I hear it.
  4. It's a Bacharach tune as well, recorded earlier by Dionne Warwick (of course) and many others.
  5. <EDIT -- oops, apologies about the incorrect year in the heading> For those who marched Cadets in 1995, or others in the know... I recently watched the film version of "The Reivers" and besides the opening solo riff, my ear could not match up any of the corps' opener with what I heard in the John Williams score. Just curious if some of that might have been pulled from other Williams sources, or am I just missing it? BTW, one of my all-time favorite Cadets offerings... Thanks, Jay
  6. Winner here... 2nd place: 1997 Crossmen - horn line re-entry after drum solo to end of show (most spectacular rifle toss ever)
  7. Regrettably, I am having to sell my ticket to the Friday night show in Allentown. Face value is $30 but I will let it go for $25. Section F, Row 22, Seat 22. Contact Jay Wright 919-847-3848 keybordz@yahoo.com
  8. Great forum topic here! I saw my first show in '84 and went to first finals in '86, so obviously those early years had the most effect on me. I'll have to add my vote for '87-'89. Great battles at the top all 3 years and nearly every corps in the top 12 was enjoyable both to hear and see.
  9. I've been waiting for this topic to come around, so I'll say... 1987 Madison Scouts featuring - Captain from Castille - An American In Paris (remember the taxi car?) - Stars & Stripes (somewhat weirded out) Who would have guessed they would be champs the following year?
  10. Never post here, but I have to put in a shout out to the Bloo Crew! This old alum is sure looking forward to sitting in your section on finals night. ^OO^ Any other fellow 'Coats from the early 90's trekking out to Pasadena?
