The thread is compairing the past to the present in acceptance and taste of the shows context. Has the average drum corps fans intellect elevalated so high that everyone will recongize the Nighthawk picture, I had to look it up so before the internet this may have been missed totally? Folks that post here think so. I was pummeled like I'am the only one that never seen this painting I don't think so but hats off to BD for pulling this off great work. Has our drum corps intellect risen so much it is hard to explain/show drum corps to a friend and they instantly became a fan or even say they like it, VK & Bridgemen were able to pull that off? Am not here to put down one era or another but our taste has evolved. Hopefully not to the point of the old Big Bands that finessed themselves out of an audience. Friends of Johnny Cash would point out how bright he was but kept it from affecting his image. He found a way to relate to the average music lover and never let that get in his way. Can dci learn from that do they need to I don't know.

As the OP it's not political really asking why VK & Bridgemen type entrainment is frowned upon. Thought maybe Jersey Surf was filling that gap several years ago and the Drum Corps Bride show reminded me of that type of show.

I am not the one you directed this at but the one they called someone from North Jersey a redneck and I am quite flattered by that having lots of friends from the south. Lived in Texas for a while and they have special names for folks from Oklahoma and Louisiana every one else is a hick. I took offense to that and said at least expand your vocabulary to Yankee.

My dream now is for FLO to work properly. Since we cannot discuss this here any more I did place a very technical trouble ticket into them this morning. Also mentioned shutting us down from comments on DCP is not the way to treat this issue.

Hey moderators where is by thread I submitted on why the FLO Sucks thread is shut down? This is certainly not the way to treat an issue about perfection in a perfectionist activity. I have the background to really take it to FLO but that is not my objective, I been posting positive helpful information trying to aid my fellow perfectionist and FLO or DCI can care less, not right.

Other than having a bad name in the title the thread was helping folks with their issues. In an activity that breeds perfection FLO is anything but. Do we need to turn up the heat contact their advertisers, open threads on reddit, Or is the season over and we have not informed. We are a bunch of perfectionist and want what we are paying for. Some of us on this thread are trying to do the right thing here to help those with issues. Closing the tread signals that the moderators, FLO, DCI does not care.

Not to the extent you describe but it did last year and that was corrected by FLO. The consensus is it's not happening to that extent anymore. As long as you have a few bars lit on your Wi-Fi and everything else on the web works fine then I would put a trouble ticket into FLO. May want to do a speed test on your connection so FLO gets the full picture may be something with your ISP.

Preaching to the choir here because we know our wonderful performers start at an early age honing their skills so let them know your decisions so they can learn tossing teddy bears and not waste their time on weapons. In all seriousness I think it's the kids that should decide that. They live in different times with lot more concerns than us middle age and old timers did. I would follow their lead will still love Drum Corps not madder what is being tossed.

Are we going to find out the Trolls on this thread work for FLO and are nothing more than big bullies? FLO has to explain why the hard switches w/o audio and video together. Even if its a manual switch it needs attention to detail, not feeling any love here putting everyone's devices on edge of the digital cliff every Corps. For want a few dollars in advertising we can always inform Rocket Mortgage if the same ad keeps boring us to death and actually affects our experience with the event we will never use them.

I am still having issues with random audio glitches usually early in shows. Last night last glitch was during the Cadets. I have dotted all the I's with FLO - java, browser are up to their standards and am connected by ethernet. Now there are things FLO can do with their streaming bandwidth that they don't seem to do right away but eventually they get better keeping my buffer full on my end (Republic of Gamers Lap Top very fast) but still have issues. Sent them screen shots of download tests of around 24mbps more then enough. They need to fix this on their end. You can tell your buffers are being stressed by the field blocking out and a loss of definition that can lead to a unacceptable audio glitches. There are also clicks/pops at times which are digital artifacts that are less annoying but present. Then there are things that FLO does that shoots us in the foot with their intrusive commercial breaks and for some reason they switch the field video back then the audio when they get around to it. Unacceptable this practice purposely interrupts the end users buffers they empty then fill back up again depending on your device can have varying affects . Knowing digital ad insertion equipment can cost 100's of thousands I would much rather play FLO more for the stream w/o commercials than having to endure hard switch that plays havoc on the end users. Even not switching the audio/video together causes reactions on the end user that can flood the upstream (easily bottlenecked) unnecessary ack requests and reautho's and delay log-ins.

We sit down real low on the fifty and clap for every corps till they turn their back. Why because whether I liked it or not the kids all put in a tremendous commitment up to and including paying to be there themselves.

However there is another thread 100's of pages long that I avoided with a passion that discusses tensions in Drum Corps today, This thread discusses things that happen on the field and the discussion seems to be productive. I accept the cabbage thrown at me for the Sown**** comment but really thought I get pummeled, I miss it since my wife is out of town. (met in drum corps been married 45 years).

Difficult to fully understand I am there as well. Yes I think everything is much better and put me there today rather than marching in the 60s and I would not even make the middle school band being a one stick drummer back in the day. It's what makes the activity so rewarding even with one stick Drum Corps gave me life changing abilities and attitude that helped through Nam and set the stage for a wonderful career developing 24 patents in IP Technology w/o a College Education and a good retirement. I will always be grateful.

Thank You for the responses to this thread and again sorry for the name calling (Snow****). After reading over the responses I am glad I am not a woman seems folks are really confused about exploitation. However in this day and age I may wake up tomorrow and identify as a women so I will be sure to avoid being placed in stocks no matter what they are used for.
