So thanks to Hrothgar15's file, I created a couple ringtones and an alarm tone based on the opener for SCV. I think the show is great but is anyone else disappointed that there's not really much, if at all, of "Come Sail Away" in the show? Are they going to be adding this later on? Sorry if this has been mentioned before--- didn't want to sift through 60 pages.

Was at the show last night and man... they were amazing. I'm biased as they are my favorite but their show compared to everyone else's was just refreshing. It seems like while everyone else is going over the top nowadays, they are going with a minimalist show design. It's beautiful and elegant. From what I see they definitely have a couple of minutes to add to the show. A signature quiet ending perhaps? A complete antithesis to what the Bluecoats and Blue Devils are doing and I love it. And as everyone else has said---that opener. I want that opening chime to be my ringtone.

I finally get to see SCV with white pants live!! Can't wait! Also, they are soooo mum about their show this year. It'll be the first time I don't see any "preview" of their show since I first got into DCI. Can't wait for Sunday!

Thank you to everyone who responded so far! I am enjoying looking at the examples you brought up and can totally see why! I'm always trying to introduce this activity to friends so it's good to have a lot of ammo.

Scenario: You have to pick one clip that you will use to sell drum corps to a friend who has never seen nor heard of it. You have to be confident enough in your choice that your friend would, at the very least, agree to check out a show with you. For me, it would be the Bluecoats' closer from Tilt.

Wow this is perfect! I work the weekends and was planning on taking a day off Saturday so I could go to the show; however, I work super early Sunday so that would have also sucked. Now I can just go right after work!

Amplified tap dancing for percussion. Just saw Riverdance and it would it awesome to hear some amplified tap dancing.

I guess this is similar to asking about show ideas but was more looking for different concepts for shows. I really liked what Bloo did with Tilt. Very conceptual with the music and "special effects" to match. I liked what SCV did back in 2003(?) on a show called Pathways. A very simple concept that I thought was really effective.

EDIT: TITLE CUT OFF: ...for the musical's 30th Anniversary For me, I'm torn at yes and no. I love the artistic direction they went with this year but man, being able to see Phantom of the Opera in drum corps form in person would be simply amazing. I also would hope that they put more hornline meat into it.
