toddschultz replied to Supersop08's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
Cool..to be honest with you, and I mean no disrespect, but I don't know those people by name, so my list is who I know. -
That was a fantastic show. The energy alone on video is amazing.

What is the movie people are talking about? And is he really in it?

Bob Barker has died for the last 25+ years, each and every summer in the minds of hundreds of kids. He's got more lives than a cat. -
9/11 Tribute w/Madison Scouts

B)--> QUOTE(Jay B @ Sep 11 2007, 05:30 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I had not seen this before. Great job. It sounds like the 1979 recording of YNWA. That is the 1979 recording that is on the Madison Scouts Through the Years album. -

That sucks -
I thought the record was about 45,000 in either Madison in the mid-80's or Montreal.

A friend of mine has had this as his screen saver on his computer for quite some time, I once thought it was a sad picture, but now that they're back! I think it's a great picture, full of life.

I think it is a two-way street, and both utitlize ideas from each other. We would be kidding ourselves if we said ideas have never come from band, and we would be kidding ourselves if we said ideas have never come from drum corps. I'm not about to open a can of worms that one steals more than the other, or that one is turning into the other, but no one can convince me that band and corps do not help each other in many, many ways.

I think it depends on what your show "concept" is and what you want people to hear. If your doing a show about say, multiple personalities, you probably aren't going to play an arrangement such as the way Madison would play Ice Castles, with the various melodies from the verses and choruses. It would be more disjunct and random. On that same note, if you were trying to pay homage to Mozart, you probably would use complete melodies/motifs. Just my thought.

Show of Shows 1997. I missed the step off into our closer by 4 counts, never have I done more push ups.

Awesome, thanks! We have two different types of heads and not enough in the budget to replace all the head to have all the same brand right now.

My wife teaches autistic students and I just sent her this great article! Well done Blue Devils -
Yeah, John Rutter and the Cavaliers are an amazing combination.

Simple question, how do I get a Yamaha or Evans logo off a bass drum head.

I think the whole Bb/G topic has been thrown out there so many times that there should be a seperate folder for it on the main page, like there is for each division and show reviews, because we haven't heard/seen all of it before. As for the original poster, if you want a good honest answer, I would bring up the topic somewhere other than this site as many of your responses will not be what your looking for. Tom...one trick pony is a great album!
