  1. Ooooh I'm sure that went over very well...
  2. Just change the visual designer to Michael Gaines, and that's my list.
  3. Definitely not just on the user end. DCI admitted they had problems with the provider. It ended up smoothing out for me, but I missed the first two corps.
  4. Yes, I think they recorded something like 24 separate tracks.
  5. Awesome. I want the whole show, narration and all.
  6. Did Crown make a "studio" recording this year?
  7. This just means that the lower-placing brass lines were scored too high, because no brass line really deserves a 20 IMO, not even Crown's.
  8. IMO the people that bought the Finals PPV webcast should also have access.
  9. 1) Crown's narration. All season I had been a fan of the counting, but not of the narration in the ballad. Around Atlanta, it started clicking, and that was the first adrenaline rush I've ever had from a corps performance. Even five minutes after the show was over, I was still giddy. Their show this year is quite possibly the best show ever put on the field IMO. 2) Blue Devils music. There's still a lot about the music I don't like, but this happens every year with me and BD's shows. I always start out absolutely hating the music, but by finals, I begin to appreciate the music for what it is. Their show will probably become one of the most played (of this year at least) on my iPhone once the CDs come out.
  10. Awesome! No problem! My feed was terrible too for Blue Stars and Spirit, but then it settled down and everything played out without a hitch.
  11. Dat brass... Such an amazing sound justly rewarded with a perfect score. Congrats Crown! (P.S. - Please keep purple in the uniforms next year as a main color. It looked incredible on the field. Plus I still want to be able to use #purplepantsband.)
  12. Now for the most pressing question of the night... What do I do with my life until next June?
  13. No problem! What year is your Air though? Only the ones from late 2010 and later support audio over HDMI. Should have mentioned this in the original post, sorry.
  14. Yep. That's what has happened in recent years. However earlier this morning, I saw the Awards Ceremony stream on YouTube (like they do for the tunnel cam) instead of the FN. That would make more sense to me, since the FN has always crashed during the ceremony due to everybody and their mother trying to watch it.
  15. Something like THIS. That's exactly what I use. I know an Amazon link won't help you now, but you can take that to Staples, Walmart, Radio Shack, etc. and see if they have one like it. It doesn't have to be the same brand. When you plug it in to the port on the Air (Thunderbolt port on the newer Airs), go to System Preferences -> Sound and make sure the output is set to HDMI. And as for your third question, that's not mobile only. They just called it that so those with a mobile device would know that it would work. It's Flash when you watch it on your computer, and HTML5 when you watch on a mobile device. There's no difference in quality. Most newer TVs now have a "DVI" input section on the back, which consists of an HDMI port for video and a 3.5mm jack for audio (from the headphone jack) from older computers. So it would be possible. The only thing keeping it from working on mobile devices, iPad included, was the lack of HTML5 support. Apple TV has never been necessary. It is a great option for mirroring the display to the TV though.
  16. Most excited I've been for finals in a long time!
  17. Am I right in guessing that your laptop has a VGA port (the blue monitor port), but no HDMI? And that your TV has HDMI, but no VGA? If so, you can run to Staples or somewhere and see if they have a VGA-HDMI converter of some sort. Some of them are just straight cables, but most of them are little boxes, something like this. Radio Shack would most likely have them too. I remember trying to get the webcast to work over my xbox a few years ago, but I found out that there's no sound from the browser... so that obviously was a no-go.
  18. Actually, the past few webcasts have had an HTML5 option too for mobile viewing. It's worked quite nicely on my iPhone.
  19. Eh, it's Philip Glass. You either love it or hate it. I'm not usually a fan of his music, but what Crown has done with it is amazing.
  20. All season I have been a fan of the counting, but not the narration in the ballad. Last night, however, everything just clicked for me. There's not one thing about this show I don't like.

  22. It acts like they're using shared hosting or something. Shared hosting just does not work with sites of this magnitude.
