I'd think the best way to watch a drum corps show is with your eyes open. -

How much higher can fees go?

I wonder if they are so expensive because of their break from YEA -
Cavaliers or Crown?

There are other audition dates than just those two. Corps don't decide on a brass line usually until after Christmas and into Spring. Relaz, you will still be able to audition. -
"You don't want to let your emotions override your intelligence." Ha ha, ya know...sometimes the best advice is your own man. This guy is great.

I reccommend Netfirms. I use them to make my high school band's website. It is inexpensive and offers a lot of features.

I am just not feeling the Bluecoats show yet. Give me some more time and I am sure I will, but not yet.

I think corps do play to the audience, not all of them but most of them. Like others have said, drills are just too complex and full to allow for that great big "WOAH" moment. I have a recording of the 1995 Madison Scouts performance, oh my goodness. I love the crowd reaction in that show...except where you could hear the corps over the roar of the crowd. That is the crowd response I want to hear. -John

Close or not, at least it failed this time around. Next year i have a feeling it will pass. I am not sure what I think of 150 members...I know that I really need to make Crown this year before too many changes come in.

Do you think this will happen?

How much do you want to bet that if these crap changes do take place, people out there will start to form a new organization around original drum corps? Branch off and start new...die hard drum corps fans won't let it die, I know I wouldn't. DCI may crumble that is a real possibility...but I think out of its ashes will come drum corps all over again. What is is, what was was, what will be was, and will be again. -John Walker -
I concur. Happy New Year to all. And here's to a spectacular year and a magnificent season! -John

My guesses for the 2007 Finals are: 1st - Blue Devils - BD and Cavies will probably be really close, their positions only to be decided at finals 2nd - Cavaliers 3rd - Phantom Regiment - Going to have a Great year but just fall short of winning 4th - Santa Clara Vanguard - Going to start inching up to the top 5th - Carolina Crown - It is time, they will break the top 6, the new percussion staff will be very beneficial. 6th - Cadets - I am worried visually, but we shall see. 7th - Bluecoats - They are going to do well in the season, we will see about finals, I'm not sure. 8th - Madison Scouts 9th - Blue Knights 10th - Boston Crusaders 11th - Crossmen - They are going to make it back into the top 12 12th - Glassmen These are just opinions. I do know for a fact that the season is going to be great! We will all just have to wait to see just how great it will be. -John Walker

I went to my first audition camp this past weekend for Carolina Crown. My biggest piece of advice is, stay calm and remember what you are there for. Say to yourself that you can make the Corps. The judges want you to do well and will help you get over your nerves. Showering isn't bad at all. Wake up a little earlier than everyone else if you need to, but don't fret over it. Relax and make sure you are prepared. Do your best and good luck! You will do fine. -John Walker

Awesome. I will be there too. Its time to really get cracking on the audition music for me. I really can't wait for it.

Wow this is great. I hope you don't mind me printing it and putting it into my Drum Corps binder. This is my first year auditioning and I am looking for all of the advice I can get. Thank you very much. -John Walker

Thank you very much for your reply. I am very excited about the audition camp and extremely excited about possibly marching next year. I finally recieved my audition packet so it is cramming time. I hope I make it!

I am auditioning on Trumpet. I am pumped up about this audition. I can't wait...I am worried though because I am so excited about Crown. If I don't make then I will fall very hard...but I have to keep a positive mind...I will make it...hopefully. Are you going to the November Camp?

I see you were in Carolina Crown. Wow I was asking you what you played...and just noticed your name. I'm auditioning this year...I hope that I make -John Walker
