  1. Can't wait to see SCV show this year. Can't wait to see how PR responds this year either. My guess is they will be fine. To anyone in that phots not getting a contract,I may be wrong, but it is my understanding Troopers still seeking to sign two or three more snares for the 2011 season. Don't sit out this summer, plenty of other corps still looking for the right people I'm sure.
  2. Nice push. Making things interesting at the end. Good job Colts
  3. 11 glassman 12 scouts 13 troopers 14 academy 13 and 14 getting closer to 12 in the end. Oops, you didn't even include Madison in you poll.
  4. #1 Blue Devils-one of the best tenor lines I've seen in a long long time. Highly recommned checking them out on youtube #2 Bluecoats-my personal favorite to win a drum title this year. Would be very well deserved, this line has been improving and working it #ss off the past four years and it might just get them a title this year.
  5. Do not let your age deter you. If you are a great player, then head west, SCV needs you. If you can handle some freakishly demanding drill while you are playing, head east, Cavaliers need you. But if you can do both, head north my friend, you are worthy to wear the Crossed Sabers.
  6. Bluecoats Drumline: memorably awesome Troopers back in finals: Thought I'd never see the day, congrats and well deserved Cavies out of the top three: are you serious? Blue Devils: The kings of drumcorps, again SCV: You Rock the house, thank you Pioneer: always love you guys, now it's time to go really Irish next year and do a U-2 themed show. Surf: welcome to the big show, you were great!
  7. Thank you Mr. Mason, I am not associated with this corps in any way, only by the fact that I am a huge fan of the activity. As a fan of drum corps, the Madison Scouts have always been one of my favorite corps. Any corps that has contributed so much over the years and has been able to survive for so long deserves my respect regardless of a particular show one year, or a few administrative problems. So every year when I see the Scouts perform, I give the members a standing ovation because they are members of a great drum corps that has a long tradition of excellence. I was standing in the lot in Broken Arrow this year and the Scouts had just performed. The entire corps came trooping right by me. They all looked quite young, they were dripping in sweat, they looked #issed off, and they looked hungry for a victory. After reading about the recent developments with the corps, I couldn’t help but to recall this moment and think to myself how happy I am for all of those hardworking kids. How excited these young men must feel right now to see what’s happening with their corps. I witnessed another great corps, the Troopers, fall on hard times and go inactive. This to me was a sad day for drum corps. I also witnessed that same corps become resurrected by the great leadership of Fred Morris, and I saw that corps perform at finals this year. I thought to myself, are you kidding me, that can not be the same corps I saw floundering in 22nd place all those years. Well thank God the Scouts never fell to the depths the Troopers fell. But I see a similar resurrection coming none the less, only in a much bigger way. Due to the actions of Jim Mason, I think this corps is going to rebound and rebound very, very quickly. I think his actions will cause many, many vets to return, and I think his actions will cause many new talented members to find their way to the Madison Scouts. I think this corps, like the Troopers did this year; will come back next year better in every single section of the corps. The guard will be better, and so will the hornline, drumline and front ensemble. I saw the Troopers raise eight places in two short years; I could easily see the Scouts doing this if not more. Mr. Mason has apparently made a massive commitment to this corps. I think he and his entire staff will find that their efforts, their time, and their talent will be worth it. At the end of the year, they will have the respect and gratitude of 150 young men, and that my friend is priceless. If you are a Madison Alumni, get your checkbook out and support your corps! Mr. Komnick, you ship has come in…..
  8. Having seen all three corps at least three times this season, my predictions for semi's are: 12: Troopers 13: Academy 14: Colts 15: Madison Great fight for the last finals spot by all three Colts, Troopers and Academy, but that's how I see the three shows stacking up, change and ending or have one corps coming out with a stellar performance on semi's night and any one of these three corps could be in finals at this point. Semi's should be a great night of drum corps all the way around. Go Crown!
  9. Personally, I think Academy is about to give the Colts the shaft, not the judges or the Troopers. Sounds like the rantings of a rookie parent. Colts are a great drum corps no matter where they finish as are the Troopers and Academy. Troopers guard score fell off a cliff tonight. Doesn't sound fixed to me. Congratulations Academy for making it a very tight three way horse race for that finals spot.
  10. What Fred Morris has done with this drum corps in the three years since he has taken over the reigns is nothing short of spectacular. Congrats Fred. Hope your kids make it to the finals. They are magnificent.
  11. Troopers drum major should reach the front of the stands by 11:45
  12. They beat Masidson in Madison last year at Camp Randell Stadium, they also beat them in 2007 in Columbus, Ohio Nice show Crown. Green is Good.
  13. I was sitting twelve rows up on 50 yard line in Edmond, Ok the other night when that company front hit me. I'm still trying to put my face back on. Awesome Drum Corps Show.
