  1. i didn't even remember my finals score haha, i still don't from most of my years but now that's up looks like there was a big drop in our visual ensemble. blah blah blah, numbers numbers. im trying to make this thread end very very very very very very quickly
  2. When's the last time you saw someone who got 2nd in semis win fullout in finals? The championship really happens on quarterfinals.
  3. Everyday was the same manner as it's always been. We rehearsed music and visuals and ensemble. Our jobs did not change from rehearsing of shows without narration. I didn't even know some of the narration until late into the season. I was way to busy with moving and playing to hear it We won GE two nights, that's where narration was judged not for any other judge. Narration was GE. We didn't win by the judging sheets on Music and Visuals
  4. Woo! I'm lovin this opening hit from SCV's show!
  5. It's really funny when I tell myself that during finals week... haha. Why don't my legs want to move anymore? Who woulda thought wearing overalls with jacket and a chicken on your head would be your hardest physical push? But you love it anyway. Plus it makes your facebook network huge through the experience. :P
  6. I remember each corps that I marched with one of the first questions always included, "Why do you want to march?" I've heard people respond saying, "They want to be in a group that cares and works hard" to "I've always wanted to wear the uniform." Etc... Somehow, the reasons are different but 134 people on the field can get filmed on a DVD and fool yet impress a lot of people. Drum Corps is in pretty shambled up state than its former self many years ago. I don't think your reasons for marching matter that much in the short run. If if involves you marching, then march! There's no time or money in this activity anymore to cater to individual reasons. Just grab an equipment and put on a uniform and get out there. You'll enjoy it either way and it really won't matter what reasons your there for.
  7. oh yeah how nice. birds mmm so relaxing... and then symphonic movement.... DEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATH.... death death.... DEAAATH.. death... death.... DA DA DAAHHHH
  8. Well if your jet packs run out of fuel during rehearsal or a show and you have the highest altitude of your jellyfish set, I think there might be some crazys. Thunderstorm Rehearsals? BooM!
  9. Sure about that? Absolutely sure about that? Positively sure about that?
  10. I would certainly agree. It's not my favorite show. But in terms of entertainment it's got me. Prolly the most famous drum solo and trumpet "trick" out there. Fast paced drill, loud hornline, eye and music candy.
  11. ooo look at those numbers change. I really am diggin phantom regiment lately.
  12. Some crazy school that was never used for like 12 years was opened to Drum Corps usage a few years ago. Every corps I was with ended up staying there. When we turned on the showers, red rust water came out for 5 minutes. :-D
  13. Not really. There are a lot of similar shows like that that have been done. My freshman year we did a show like that with narration of "a typical day of a band kid" lol. But Cadets 07 didn't look or sound like it.
  14. Sometimes I find it odd of people that fail to realize that Drum Corps is on its way down the pooper at this rate.
  15. Jeez it's just a number, no need to get in a not guys. I'm sure most people can't tell who won brass in the top corps. Especially, at least in my opinion, the top 7 were in a league of their own! And the frequency of quality for 7 corps to be up there is pretty rare. No need to argue like crazy. Celebrate, I think this may be the best year for brass in a long time. Great Repertoires, Great Performances, Great Executions. I mean if I listen to 2006, I wouldn't have guessed for a second that Cavaliers won brass or 2000 that the Cadets won brass. It's just a number. Really that's all it is. Doesn't mean who won brass was the best or any corps that didn't win brass was the worst. It's what ever you want it to mean.
  16. I counted at the USSBA finals last year, 4 of the 16 bands did it. Ouuuch. Chaos on training wheels! Woo! Badace. :P Sorry couldn't resist!
  17. Okay I established my list. Bluecoats, Phantom, and then Blue Devils (the first half of Blue Devils). Phantom had some great songs this year. Pretty awesome choices for 2007! And I'm really impressed with Bluecoats for this year. Wow do they sound clean! Theres some seriously gorgeous sounds out of those bells! P.S. I get goosebumps during the firebird material at the end of Phantom's show.
  18. My school tried to do the folding T from SCV 99. I saw the high cam of it and it was very enjoyable. It looked like a sideways mushroom cloud.
