  1. They play movement 2 from symphony 10. Some of the arranging is good, other parts just feel gimmicky with power chords randomly thrown in.
  2. Didn't so much like the treatment of the Shostakovich, but otherwise the music is fantastic.
  3. It is awkward when the announcer asks if the corps is ready and receives no response. Hadn't noticed that - I guess that makes me feel better
  4. Sound in the theater really wasn't bad besides the difficulty the bass drums had penetrating. I assume the DVDs will be at least as good.
  5. Someone said a few days ago that several corps have recorded with Box 5 Productions this summer. I only have one recording by Box 5 (Crown 2007), but it's spectacular, and I'm curious when/where the 2009 shows will be available.
  6. I think we've learned that they do have one more shot at this decade, but not at the 2000s. How does that make you feel?
  7. Agreed. The 1984 WSS received a much more musical treatment. I don't know why the Cadets are instructed to play in this way.
  8. I was about to argue for Crown's use of piano at the beginning of Sensemaya, but I just realized that there is no piano. I was just hearing low marimba and timpani. Would that low marimba even be audible without amps though?
  9. Without amps, you couldn't use a piano in the pit, which is something I have enjoyed in this year's shows.
  10. SCV did beat them in music. =) (That's probably actually what you meant)
  11. I think the two characters were designed for a more abstract interpretation than what you want to give them.
  12. Not the entire time. There are a few key moments though.
