This reply simply won't do. In order for it to be accurate, one would need to keep editing the reply until people stop voting for BD. All kidding aside. Though Phantom's score was higher than BD's in the previous competition it does not mean head to head they will win. I think that most of the year with BD being undefeated, I would not count them out.

Hey, I marched in 82, we were certainly not dead. 83 was the year we did not field a corps.

One of the traits of drum corps is "class". Every time I hear of a story of a classy corps, somehow Blue Stars is always part of the conversation. There are other classy corps out there as well. I would love to hear more. Thanks for sharing this story.

You know that is the truth. I find it really funny that people are still using Star as a standard to compare against. Honestly, if they were that great, they would still be around. One of the marks of great corps year over year is their ability to keep going.

I wish you would have marched in 82 when we were picking up the pieces. We held our heads high, even though we were half the corps we were the year before. I learned what Drum Corps really was that year. By the way, how was puker 80? Puker 82 was a blast!

Judging does not cater to a conspiracy on who "should be" in finals this year. Back when the Blue Stars did not make finals in 80, North Star did. Who had the better show? This is monsoon season. DCI would have known that that when they booked the show last year. By the way, being from the corps many years ago, we always had a better show when we came in from the rain. Sorry Academy!
