Honestly, I've missed the people the most. I finally got to see Cadets at rehearsal the other day and though I do miss marching a lot, I honestly felt blessed just to be able to sit in front of them and witness what was going on on the field. I felt like I was watching drum corps for the first time. I just kept laughing and smiling the whole time. It was amazing! -

They give 3 for each brass, guard, and drums. Basically a thanks for working hard and just stepping up when it called for it. I got mine for brass... -

And that was the main complaint to Cadets '05. So maybe it is good to be a little misunderstood sometimes! -

Well he is entitled to his opinion. Maybe a little more appropriate in the show review section though...From what I have seen of Crown, I've liked. Can't wait to get a live read on them in Atl. (Still hoping Holy Name can pass them though! Of course I would, right? ) -

Cadets are at Sandy Creek High

Meh, scores day to day can be pretty inconsistent. Case and point, last year going into San Antonio we were 2nd to BD by only .1 if I remember correctly (we were at separate shows though...) and when we hit SA we were in 5th and 3 points down to them. So we'll just have to wait and see how things pan out!

Cadets sold their '03-'05 unis and made some into pillows. I bought a full uniform from '06 and also some flags used in the '05 and '06 shows....

I went and saw them in Atlanta this weekend. During rehearsal bass 1 and the tenor drummer didn't practice the majority of the time. And when I saw the bass 1 afterwards, he looked like he was limping pretty bad, so I'm not sure what is going to happen. I hope both of them get healthy soon! -

Anybody else notice that David Starnes judged both GE music and Music ensemble and had CC up .5 and .4 in those captions, which was the biggest spreads (besides perc...)? Just interesting he was judging 2 categories and put CC so far above HNC. Either way, congrats tonight Crown! And keep working hard Holy Name! -
Anyone see this story?
Drumcorpsfan471 replied to 3rd_Star_Brigade's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
I knew Daniel personally...the funny thing is I never got any negative feedback from him. He always seemed, from what I remember, pretty happy to be apart of Cadets. I wish him the best of luck at BD though. If that's what makes him happy, then i'm glad he is there. I do hate that he had a "negative experience" though... -
Too early to predict?

Cadets do a morning workout every morning with Joe Roache that does a lot of push ups, sprinting, Y squats, etc etc. -
Maybe it is my bias, but I can remember before I even started marching that when someone mentioned a great mello line, my mind automatically went to Cadets (if nothing else for their sick runs while maintaining good tone). But hey, that's the great thing about this activity....you can like whoever you want for whatever reason you want!

Favorite Championship Show
Drumcorpsfan471 replied to bluublood's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
For me it is Cadets 2005. I remember changing out of my uniform after shows and RUNNING back to the stands to be able to watch it one more time. I loved every part of this show and thought they werea bunch of marching monsters. Not to mention that the drumline, brassline, and colorguard were unreal good....overall one of my favorites! PS. It was REALLY tough to choose just 1! -
That was my first reaction when I got done listening to it. I remember the mellos having such an edge, especially at the end, that it was just too much. Other than that, I thought it was a solid musical show but was somewhat lacking visually. Overall I thought it was a great show though!

And The Champion Is......

Pulling for my home team. Hoping Holy Name takes it, but I think it is going to be a battle between BD, Holy Name, Crown, and SCV.... -
I would think that most of the members are just excited to get the opportunity to go to Vegas. I know I would have loved to go do that show and MAYBE get a free day out there. I'm pretty sure BD got a free day....so no. I don't think anyone would ever want to boycott this show...

Yeah I agree with this. I think EVERYONE deserves respect. I have always thought, though, that a lot of the guys in the lower corps just get shafted a lot of the times. I marched a lower corps for 3 yrs, then went to a higher corps for 3 yrs. I can tell you that when I mention the lower corps I marched I always get a "Oh ok." response. But when I mention the higher corps I get a "HOLY COW! THAT'S AWESOME!" I just have always hated that people, especially people who are not around the activity, judge so harshly on where you march...
