  1. this one is hard for me to miss, excited for the corps and audience, hoping all goes very well! thanks again
  2. photos of Saints are great! hope they can grow but even so, they are something nobody else is and it is laudable!
  3. this means alot! wish I was there! 😞 I have needed to be very charitable this year and I just cant swing it time wise and monetarily$, Im not trying to afford Box5 yet, maybe later? Im really happy I can "tune in" here from Coatesville PA! Please send your impressions of everything! especially the best stuff! 🙏🙏🙏
  4. The winners are the big story, not the losers, I was in 2-7 in 83, some thought we were in good position after taking 8th on 7/30 in Whitewater but we got 10th with a 79 on 8/20, truck broke down going home in SC, offloaded equip onto fire ant hills then onto buses, ended up being bitten by ants traveling back north, Crossmen seemed to be in good position after beating Cavs on 7/9 and 27th on 7/16 reaching 73 by 7/17 then their scores went backwards!!! I felt horrible for them. Xmen got 13th with 78.60 on 8/19 and were out of it smh. Sky, Alliance, Cavs, Xmen all had shows worth noting but the story is the winners despite the huge struggles and battles taking place from 8th thru 16th in 1983. Those performers deserved more honor.

  6. :) Tonight, tonight, won't be just any night...
  7. but if we didn't have that and so much other filler after the last performance ended, could we not have a full retreat? Wouldn't members rather show off their pride and spirit than cheer for themselves on a video screen? I would. I have expressed in several places, I cannot imagine how emasculating it must feel to walk off the field and not celebrate the season by playing your heart out, not show everyone how proud you feel, not show everyone although you didnt get 1st place you will be back next year and by golly it will be your year! All of that in exchange for drawn out olympic retreats, videos, talking, etc etc... I would pay more to see corps play themselves off, to see that team spirit and feel the intensity... I thought the jumbotron and the electronic audio was distracting. I get the idea, I appreciate it but if I had my choice... my anticipation is enhanced by what is happening live, not by AV, I did dig how MN Brass came on the field though, I digress. full retreat, trooping and emotion! 2011
  8. I really enjoyed Rochester Cru in '77 & '78! some big sound those years.
  9. Whenever a drum corps vet watches a finals performance, he wants each corps to do their best because he knows what its like to walk off the field and feel like it wasnt the best. Last year at finals I felt bad for Hurcs and expected them to drop and they did. This year I felt the same for Renegades. I posted to fb that Bush would move up and R7 would move down 2 places immediately after their performances. So in answer to Rory, it wasnt East Coast bias, the East loves that corps and wants them to keep going. It wasnt because of rule breaking, I saw no breech of protocol and that is more of an image than a practice. Renegades dont need to be like MBI or anyone else to finish higher. There wasnt travesty, Bush & Vets were good too. Respect? not sure what to say... I respect your hardcore fanship for your corps. I was worried the performance wouldnt hold 8th and it didnt.
  10. thanks, quick mystery solved and, makes sense since corps was active then and also local to SF
  11. here is a guess who detour... Dec. 16, 1961 San Fran CA, halftime at 49ers-Colts game, corps with dark uniform, shako with white plume, possibly satin shirt, black pants with white stripe... senior corps? http://www.facebook.com/pages/Baltimore-MD...ts/373543430153 move video cursor forward to 20:00 and view short clip of what is obviously not a band, it looks like a decent sized corps too, sorry about the adverts
  12. is there video in existence of YRs from 1989-1990? I still have my ornage YR pennant from about 1975 I guess?
  13. I felt good and bad at the same time when members sang to us from the stands as I was in Park City's drumline on the field. I guess it is like anything else, the person on the job the day you encounter any organization, can make life easier or harder based on their own mentality. Just like calling customer service, you can get a great representative or a useless one. Hopefully this prepares us all to avoid such misfortune in the future. Sorry I couldnt see Les Dips in CT. Les Dips at Bgpt 1971
  14. Just 1983. I should have written a Plymouth review, I watched everybody but my family was there and I didnt have a notebook. I also am too blunt and wouldve probably caused drama.
  15. Im a 27 alum. This is my 1st year with PCP. Im trying to help the corps keep the drumline moving forward. Thanks for the tip.
  16. Where are folks getting their video? I saw it being shot. I really enjoyed Defenders show! Not knowing what to expect I was pleaasantly surprised. I enjoyed the content. The corps definitely carved out their own niche. I played in Park City.
  17. Niner Two 1981 27th Lancers , the 1982 version was abbreviated and without the extended drum solo. Lancers and Crossmen did great versions, for the Crossmen's it was their ending and was off the hook. For Lancers it was a concert number. The snare riff in Lancers version done with a full lean back is a classic.
