  1. Evan Morgan here...Mark knew me when I was with Revolution. :) Nice to meet you Gaelen. You've given me another reason to skip out on work and go to I&E this year (since I work 15 minutes from the venue).
  2. LOL. You know, I got a "mmmm hmmmm" from my wife for not using "D". I should know better; my apologies. :) Anyway, good luck to the Blue Saints and please tell Mark hi from me. He's a great guy and I've always enjoyed being around him and your corps. :)
  3. Relax Francis... The deaf community itself uses (and prefers) the term "deaf" (see Gallaudet University's website for example). In fact, quite a few deaf find "hearing impaired" offensive since they do not (and with good reason) consider their lack of hearing as an "impairment" at all. Can we get off the PC train now? Oh, and congrats to the DM!
  4. And provides great service and great tickets to a lot of people. Thanks Ron!
  5. Of course, you're assuming the lid will be closed. :big hug: Let's hope that's not the case come August.
  6. Hmmm...that's exactly what Jim Mason ended up doing. Worked for Star! Note that I'm NOT saying we didn't have younger-than-seniors marching, just that Jim promised not to accept them if their director had objections.
  7. Thank you to all who have expressed their thanks and to all of my brothers (and sisters) in arms. Capt, USAF, Ret (yes, I was a Mustang) 1988-2008
  8. The CLASSIC...Troop's crossed-sabers logo in gold on navy. Wear mine all the time (and right now, in fact).
  9. Completely off topic, but I wanted to answer your question Tom. Yes, we are. And so are the Iraq/Afghanistan veterans, of which I am also a part. But it still will never be the same as it was. The sense of community is now being filled by forums such as these. Blame it on a different generation... However, I have seen some traction in VFW/AL posts being interested in community-based all-age corps. Unfortunately, about all they have to offer are facilities. There's not much money out there.
  10. Scvc and bdb both has issues with amps... Scvc crackling and bdb lots of feedback. Just sayin'
  11. nah. I was thinking the opposite due to the yellow. Love that uni. This sun blows. LOL
  12. on the 50 two rows up from the tunnel. Great day but sun in our eyes BIG time. Maybe 100 people here but it's early. On iPhone so battery life a concern. More later.
  13. Ron, Great story, man! I remember being at the Chattanooga show with Revo in '03. There were a TON of inner city kids there that had been given tickets to the show. At the beginning, they were just horsing around and not really "digging" the show, but by the 2nd corps they were wide-eyed and cheering louder than anyone there. I really wish I knew how many ended up marching somewhere...band, drum corps, parade corps, it doesn't matter. I just hope they had the chance to get involved. The point is, marching changed ALL of our lives in some way and it's very deep and personal to each of us. Ron, I'll be calling EARLY tomorrow to get my tickets. Thanks again for hooking me up. You provide a valuable service! Evan
  14. Allow myself to introduce...myself. I'm Richie Cunningham I'll be at Semis. For anyone that cares. :)
  15. OK, so the top 17 are moving further south. Post what you know, please. Revolution Emmerich Manuel HS 2405 Madison Ave. Indianapolis, IN 46225 Good luck to all; I can't wait to watch the intense competition in Open Class this year! See you at Semis...
  16. Revolution's one year foray into Div II was an anomaly...we never should have done it (I was one of the ones that made the decision). Of course, hindsight being what it is...but we had the numbers and the talent. But it takes more than numbers and talent to make that leap between Divisions. I'm just happy to see them alive and doing so consistently well in Div III! GO REVO
  17. Yeah, there are too many of "his kind" teaching there. ^0^ GO BONES!!
  18. LOL...missed it again. (and I was even quoted in that one saying that the main point was missed) I'LL TYPE REALLY BIG AND SLOW NOW...NORTHSIDE (TO WHICH I PAY A CRAPLOAD OF TAXES EACH YEAR) REFUSES TO HOUSE CORPS. THAT was my point...plain and simple. I threw the natatorium comment in there because I see it as a phenomenal waste of my tax dollars...but then again, so is Welfare and I can't do anything about that either. But that is my opinion. :)
  19. As usual, the main point of my post was completely overlooked. LOL It's all good; it's the way I write.
  20. Yeah, you're right. I always screw that up because it's due NORTH of town. Go figure...gotta love SA logic.
