  1. I think I can help you out. I know a friend who has experience arranging and composing marching band and drum corps music. His e-mail address is: gandalf-the-black@hotmail.com. His fees are normally pretty lenient too. Best of luck!
  2. sooo, i'm a freelance composer/arranger who's done many different genres of music. a couple of years ago i arranged my first full drum corps show, with a disney theme. i was hoping you guys could listen to it and give me some honest feedback. (i've grown in my composing/arranging skills since then, but still, i wanna know what you guys think). since making it, i've had a couple of overseas corps wanting to play it, but it'd be nice if someone in the states would as well. it would help a bunch, thanks! http://www.myspace.com/400300019 there are 5 different movements
  3. hopefully this doesn't break too many of your pet peeves http://www.myspace.com/400300019
  4. i saw 'em (they were only 15 minutes away from where i'm summer interning). watching them made me miss the activity. the kids were having a BLAST! we got a chance to hear the show twice, and it is easily my favorite blue stars show thus far. the music is very "mechanical, soulful, and powerful". the ballad section is very different and must be heard for yourself to understand. the closer is completely different than the rest of the show with jazz and shout sections! overall enjoyable
  5. this will be my first time going to semifinals. normally when i go to competitions i just buy tickets at the door. have many people bought tickets for semifinals at the door before? if so, how long was the wait in line? thanks!
  6. dont know about movies, but the novel about the blue devils "the lorin solo" is awesome!
  7. wow, that was all entirely too entertaining!
  8. whats the oldest age you've seen someone march in an all-age corps? i'm curious
  9. hey, by any chance, does anyone know where a freelancer music composer/arranger such as myself might be able to sell his stuff? i've written some shows and take on new projects for marching bands, but i dont know exactly where to post or "apply" for such a job. i know most corps already have their built in music arrangers, but if someone could point me in the right direction, it'd be greatly appreciated.
  10. 2003 all the way, its the show that made me fall in love with dci! B) buuuuuuuuut, 1996 is amazing too
  11. thanks for all of the help guys! it means alot! i cant wait to start! as soon as i figure out which corp to join....
  12. hey, i've been a dci fan/spectator for a while, but i've just recently heard about dca for the first time. it would be really nice if someone could tell me more about the individual corps, such as some of their "trademarks", who the top (most competitive) are, such and such, that'd be really nice b**bs
