Well, given the fact that Mr. VanDoren is involved and surrounded with like professionals, I believe it's safe to say, any talking will be done on the field and not in a news group. Personally looking forward to see the production.... good or bad, one thing can be assured it will simply be a class act all the way!

Hello all LVK Alumni! It's been way too Long and can think of no better reason to hold a little "Reunion" for all LVK Alumni & Staff to celebrate all the success of the past. Gary, Thanks for asking about LVK... Given the current condition of the DC world, it's silly to attempt a return at this time, especially with gas prices reaching $4 a gallon and considering we are basically starting at square 1. It has to be done correctly and last for the long term... The time will come... and we will be there... Going to wait to the dust settles at the moment... In the mean time... we wait and plan... LVK - We are working on it! I see 2010 in a crystal ball!!!

We will not be there this year, although we will be keeping our options open for next year... Our Priorities are to get the administrative base in place and chart a course.

Thanks for the kind words, we will provide an update after the meeting. Our Future as I see it... 1) We can get kids and put out a quality product. 2) We have proven to be successful in touring in DCI Competition. 3) We failed miserably (Administratively) to be able to support the demands of a growing and “up & coming” corps. Our success untimely ended up being our departure from the field. We MUST build a very strong administrative base and cannot “hit the road” as a corps till we accomplish this task. We are in this for the long term and who knows when we will hit the field. I initially felt it was a 5 year plan (a year ago)… So we will see… I’m very pleased with progress during the past year and hopefully will see even better results as we hit year two! WE WILL BE BACK AND IT WILL BE WORTH THE WAIT!

Lehigh Valley’s Drum Corps charts course to make their return to Drum Corps International Competition. The Lehigh Valley Knights a former Division 2/3 powerhouse has scheduled a re-organizational meeting for all interested parents/supporters who are interested in serving in roles in bringing back the Lehigh Valley Knights to Drum Corps International Competition. The meeting is scheduled for Saturday, October 13th at 5pm in Macungie, PA On the agenda will be creation of a new board of directors, filing of organizational paperwork, realistic time table, home base, and securing equipment. Did I hear Allentown?? Certainly can happen and ripe for the picking. Allentown Fair? Not a problem, we have done that before. Hotels? Not a problem, there are more than ever... Stadium? Better than ever, except for the upper deck, there are still 13,000 seats available for DCA. I & E... Downtown improvements better than ever, where else can you get served beer on the main street in town and make all kinds of noise at all hours of the night?? Fields? 29 available in the Allentown Park System alone. Considering DCI East will more than likely move out of Allentown after this year, it could be a golden opportunity. Time for a proposal? O wow… didn’t expect to draw some suspense over this… actually, I had a nice full response the other night and somehow my computer froze up as I posted it… so lost it all and just went to bed instead! Lol Will LVK be BACK? YES We have formulated a 5 year plan to return to competitive status in DCI. Basically, we are starting at square one and building a solid foundation to support the organization. The paperwork has been filed and we are in the process of getting a 501c3 which will take some time. Several folks have stepped forward to help restart the organization. Most importantly a local attorney, real estate broker and accountant will serve on the board and we will be growing from there over the next year. There will be a lot of work to be done over the next few years in order for this to be done correctly from securing funds for equipment, transportation, storage and financial management. Eventually, the search for other administrative folks, staff and eventual recruiting will take place for the return to the field for the summer of 2011. I will be purchasing a Commercial/Investment building this coming summer which will serve as the organizations practice/administrative and possible Bingo facilities. So there is a lot of potential here, it just needs to be done correctly to support itself in the future. I think in the end, it will be well worth the wait, after all, we are not coming back to loose! Have a great Holiday Season everyone!
