  1. If you want to see "Old School" marching and manuvering Google "Anaheim Kingsmen" and watch the 2007 Rose Bowl performance. The drill was basically reconstructed from the 1972 show by David Weinberg and included everything; off the line, drum solo, color pre, drum solo, concert, exit and re-entry up to and including high leg lift and elbow contact on a massive company front. OOOOOOOh Yaaaaaaaaaa!
  2. The first show I attended was Glover Stadium Anaheim, California in 1968. The Anaheim Kingsmen's show. My father, my brother and I had seen the Kingsmen in a parade and followed them through the parade season when one of the parents suggested we attend. The corps that evening were: Anaheim Kingsmen Velvet Knights Lynwood Diplomats (or Ambassadors) Imperial Dragons/LA Chinese Kings Royal Lancers (Kingsmen's B corps) Squires (VK's B corps) and maybe the Golden Statesmen from San Diego
  3. Anaheim Kingsmen in 1976 stayed on the property of a business park in Tempe (Phoenix) Arizona that was still under construction so of course we slept outside. The low temperture was probably 99 degrees. When I woke up in the morning I was within four feet of a scorpion that didn't look as though he had his coffee yet...
  4. Again, the rules... We [Anaheim Kingsmen] did not tour in 1975. We finished 19th at DCI in 1976 and higher in '77.
  5. #1 My father who put me into the Anaheim Kingsmen's B corps when I was eight years old and #2 Steve Beard, (the finest baritone player ever ) who was a horn instructor for the B corps and shared with us his solid work ethic.
  6. The Orange show was the premier event of the standstill season. I participated from 1969-1975 with the Anaheim Kingsmen's B corp and the Kingsmen. There was an actual standstill season when corps would try out their new music. There was an event hosted by the Velvet Knights that included individuals competition. Old school, good times
  7. Anaheim Kingsmen - Kings Royal Lancers/Kings Lancers/Kingsmen Cadets Tim Park Kings Royal Lancers/Kings Lancers/Kingsmen Cadets 1969-1974 Kingsmen 1975-1976 U.S. Navy Drum & Bugle Corps 1979-1980 KAC 2005-2008
  8. Thank you to all for the kind words. As a Kingsmen from "back in the day" and as a member of the KAC, it was a pleasure to perform for you. P.S. The oldest marching member of the KAC was my father. 81 years old. He was in the Honor Guard (sabre) Tim Park French Horn -yes, French Horn Kingsmen/KAC
