  1. That was not my point or my intention, nor would I have the authority to censor anyone even if I wanted to, which I don’t. I merely suggested a mental exercise that might help the poster challenge any gender assumptions that his position may have been based on. What adjectives would you use to describe Madison’s identity if gender-based assumptions were momentarily unavailable? I don’t want to taint anyone else’s list, and I have to take my wife to the doctor in a minute, so I will just say “bad ###” is the first thing that comes to mind. Then when I ask myself whether bad ### is exclusively male, my answer is no, not at all.
  2. If you make an honest effort to describe their identity without using gender-based terms, you might end up with a solid, accurate list of adjectives that we should now understand are not exclusive to males.
  3. Not sure what you are looking for in terms of a correlation, but of the top 10 corps that were in both Atlanta and Allentown, the Saturday corps increase was about .65 greater than the Friday corps increase. 3 of the 4 Saturday corps improved by over 3 points. None of the 6 Friday corps did.
  4. So far I’ve heard a victim blamed for: Coming forward Waiting to come forward Coming forward too soon The way they came forward Sharing information Withholding information Being too specific Not being specific enough Having the wrong facial expressions Making people feel bad Actions of those they don’t control Can’t imagine why anyone would think there is victim-blaming here.
  5. Ever since I took that Evelyn Wood course, the Buccaneers show just flies by.
  6. That would have been someone else I think because I didn’t publish mine. But yeah, the adherence of scores to their trajectory was pretty remarkable, and definitely shaped my perspective on how judging works and what to expect.
  7. If two shows were at the same stadium, with the same panel of judges, but one month apart, do you think it would count?
  8. Anomalies like that really stuck out on the charts back when I used to graph them.
  9. To be fair, your appearance may not project that you want to be taken seriously. 😆
  10. Call it what you want, but corps improve after days of shows just as they improve after days without shows. I used to track and graph every score throughout the season. On average, they went up around half a point per day regardless of whether those days were filled with shows or not.
  11. Whether it is practice from a rehearsal or practice from a show, or even a day of rest, corps benefit from a day’s worth of time.
  12. My mind immediately started working on an example of single statement that would accomplish every one of those. Of course I couldn’t share it, but it would be fun to think of.
  13. Which makes no sense to me, because one set of corps has an additional day to practice.
