  1. Good advice so far. One other important thing to remember, you're going to make mistakes and you're going to get reamed out occasionally. It's not a judgement of your character or your worth as a person, so don't take it personally. Absorb what you need to and move on.
  2. Which would have had to have been paid anyway if the poster was childless. At least the poster is getting something for the taxes paid in, instead of being like me who pays ridiculous taxes, has no kids to put through the system, and all I get for my "investment" is vitriol from parents with kids in the system who claim I hate their kids because I don't want to pay even more property taxes..... I now release the thread I just hijacked.
  3. I was not a big fan of BD. Not knocking them or anything, I respect what they've done and do, but I never got into the style of music. But '91 is one of the years that I just can't get enough of. Awesome show.
  4. The only thing, JC, is that we've been playing that as the closer for the last couple of years.....how about "Still Not Syne"?
  5. Actually, the USGS has moved the epicenter of the quake and lowered its intensity, now they say it was a 3.8 and centered in Gilberts, IL, near Elgin. And I still didn't feel it...... *edit* Yeah, Dan, I get it, I completely missed the point of your post. If I had any hair left, that swooshing I felt by the plane flying over my head would have parted it. As it is, it just left a mark.....
  6. Provided they can keep changing the system to make it do what they want.....you left that part out. And that's all I'm going to say on the matter. I have to go find a tar pit somewhere....RAWR!
  7. Given that we're based in Wisconsin, I wanted to work cheese into the title somehow, but "Delilah Cuts the Cheese" is just wrong on so many levels....
  8. And then there are the guys like me. We're called "permenantly single" in the dating world....
  9. And in some cases he proposes and proposes again and proposes again and proposes again and proposes again and proposes again and proposes again and proposes again and proposes again and proposes again and proposes again..... quoting Bugs Bunny, I like a person with stick-tuitiveness, but how sticky can a person get?
  10. Received my 5-year pin at the banquet at the beginning of December, starting year 6. Would have been year 7 if I didn't have that foot surgery in '07.......
  11. Wonderful stadium, I still take a piece of it with me where every I go -- on account of the "turf turds" that I'm STILL shaking out of my shoes. Seriously, though, nice facility. Should be a great show.
  12. The baritone line looked pretty full, but I'm sure we can make room for one more, Pat (hint, hint)
  13. Another Ever notice how you can't buy ice-cream in half-gallon containers any more? And the manufacturer claims they made the package smaller to make it easier to store. Funny how the price there didn't go down either. For years there have been people on this site whining about how expensive the DVD's are. I'd bet if DCI saved all of the bells and whistles and raised the price accordingly, there would be crying about that too. I'm no defender of DCI, but in this case it seems like nothing they do is going to keep people happy.
  14. Well, we could go to yellow tops, but then the DM would have to pick a different color.....
  15. Depending on what you're looking for, either should be a good choice. I picked up baritone after over 20 years of not playing, and I played trumpet in high school. Secretly, I'd love to play contra, but I don't think my back could handle it, so I compromised by playing 3rd/4th bari parts since a lot of the time we mirror what the contras do, but with less horn to carry. At the same time, I love mellophone parts, and secretly dream of carrying around a horn that barely weighs as much as my baritone mouthpiece... But I'll stick with the baritone. Good Luck.
  16. The fashion sense, alone, should be jail-able..... Too bad he couldn't hang around for Brewfest, he'd have yet another outrageous piece of clothing to wear back home.
  17. See, that's just it....NOBODY expects the Spanish Inquisition!
  18. Good point. We don't want that whole Spanish Inquisition thing blowing up in our faces....
  19. Plus there was the whole "will PETA object?" thing when the subject of using cows as ammo surfaced. We probably should put the Monty Python tapes away....
