  1. I've found the most practical thing to do is to get wet and get over it. Every once in awhile a light rain jacket can become necessary. But for the most part, it's usually not worth the fuss, so getting wet is the best way to go. Just make sure you have a pair of nice, dry socks and shoes waiting. Your feet will definitely appreciate them.
  2. I heard wind that Troopers still has holes, especially in the colorguard. No idea about specifics, though.
  3. Well, it's advisable to pick an outlet away from water fountains. That can sometimes be an issue. Otherwise, I don't know of anyone who's had a problem.
  4. Well, it probably wasn't stolen, but I lost one shower show halfway through tour. And since I only brought one pair, I got to share until the next store run. But thankfully, I haven't had anything of value go missing. *knock on wood*
  5. My rookie season, I gained weight. I started at 114 lbs and lost 11 during the first 2 weeks. By the end of tour I had almost no fat on me, but having gained tons of muscle, came out weighing 118lbs. The corps I marched fed us 4 times a day, but many of those meals were pretty skimpy. I tried to go back for 2nds and 3rds as often as I could, and I kept my bus box pretty well stocked. I've got a very fast metabolism. This season I'll be starting off with much more muscle than I did last, so I'll be interested to see what the scale tells me during various points of the season.
  6. Didn't really get into either show. But I got into Phantom's less. SCV, you've got my vote!
  7. I would love watching someone try to clean a flag statement in that guard.
  8. Unfortunately, mine are the same way. Except it was the boring old "It's not you we don't trust. It's everyone around you." line. So I usually gave them a call about a minute before lights out and kept it very short unless I actually had something substantial to share with them. But if ever I missed a day, they would be very worried about me the next time I called them. Never let that get in the way of bonding with the people around me, though. One reason for going on tour was to grow up a little away from home, not to carry home around with me in the form of a small hand held electronic device.
  9. I'm pretty sure The Cavaliers and Madison Scouts have never had a female Drum Major.....
  10. Okay. So I just sent an e-mail to King, and will wait for a reply. Thanks for the advice!
  11. So I got a King blade for Christmas, and was spinning it the other day. As I was warming up, I dropped a 5 in my grass, and when I picked the blade up, it was bent pretty badly. I tried bending it back, but it still has a slight bow. I've never spun a King before, so is this normal or should I send it back?
