  1. I guess they didn't think they could get away with the "we had thousands in cash stolen on tour, please help!" scam again. I mean they could have at least tried. It's sad that DCI needs to be a watchdog to keep corps on the field. People incapable of running a business will continue to start/run corps. Some will last longer than others, but bad business practices win out eventually. Yeah? Will we? Did we find out the truth about Revolution last year? Impulse when they collapsed? Oregon Crusaders when they were begging for money to tour? Magic? Southwind? What seems to happen is these things fade away until people forget about them and the outrage has died down. It's the same, tired, DCP story. A handful demand answers and accountability, while another handful insists on baselessly defending every failed corps and says "hey let's just wait and see, we don't know the whole story". At what point do these corps stop getting the benefit of the doubt? Have any of those stories ever been that the corps made a lot of the right business decisions but ended up being just unlucky and ran bad for like 3 years in all financial aspects? I know it sounds negative and pessimistic, but these stories are invariably irresponsible corps management. I see approximately zero scenarios where any reasonably competent board/director would let any corps attempt a full tour if there was a chance of having to pack it in mid-season. If they knew it was going to be tight, why not adjust their touring schedule? I know there are penalties and whatnot for pulling out of shows but how is that a worse scenario than saying "f### it, let's see how far we can get!!" which is what it seems like they did.
  2. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, good one.
  3. This from the kid who had "FTV" in his sig shortly after finals...what does that stand for again?
  4. Maybe they sold the hall to pay Aungst to bring all his staff there and force all his kids to march there.
  5. Hey East Coast Jazz sold there hall and they turned out ok, right? right? Bueller?
  6. I read threads when I see a new reply because I expect there to be some kind of discussion on a discussion board, not one advertisement post and 15 bumps. I'm actually pretty disappointed that the forum admins allow a thread with ZERO substance to stay at the top of the open class forums like this...
  7. Is it really necessary to bump this stupid thread every freakin week? I for one find VK's overhype super annoying and bumping this thread only adds to it. I have nothing against the members or administration of this group but all you fanboys out there have really turned me off to this organisation. Way to create one less potential fan for vk, morons. P.S. Teh intrenet is serious business
  8. This from someone who recently had 'FTV' in their signature next to 08. Glass houses?
  9. fixed considreing you only made one for your corps, not every corps. also please don;t make one for every corps because that would be annotying.
  10. If you really believed that, you would have went back this year. See the part about "commitment".
  11. Randy B = Class Act. Good luck Blueish Green Team.

  14. I predict that EndzoneEric's corps will not make finals.
  15. Madison was not coming off a championship season. Madison's staff changes were encouraged by the members. Staffs come and go, but when members go with them that, to me, speaks volumes. i'm just trying to provide a different perspective here, a devils advocate if you will. maybe something is wrong? maybe the people who write bad things know more than those who are constant beacons of optimism. remember those ecj threads where members posted that there was a lot they loved about their time there but that it was an incredibly poorly run organization? members tend to know these things. i'd like to know what the 07 spartans members think about this whole situation. judging from turnout and the fact that their dm is in her second year with the corps, i'd say it's not a favorable opinion. and before you play the bitter card, this is only what i have observed! sometimes it's better to look closer at things, and i know that everyone here wants drum corps to succeed, i among you, but it's not always smiles in sunshine in dci. we all know that. and you will never read anything negative on any corps site ever. I don't know what those people who are being blatantly negative/positive in semi-related threads are thinking. you make a god point. they may be bitter,. but the may know more than us as well. butagain i have to go back to the memebrs. if they supported the decisions of the corps then they would have stayed. it's very obvious that hthey haven't. Again, not bitter. just inquisitive. maybe we all should be a little mroe. maybe if there is more public outcry and inquistion into what is going on at corps, we'll see less fold out of the blue. like ecj and southwind. blargh, who knows.
  16. please reffer to my post in the Open Class baords
  17. Thats funny because Im pretty sure theres a minimum membership requirement for World Class. Based on the recetn camp reports its hard to imagine what DCI saw from that 14 membr brass-line and brand new staff that told them they were ready to compete with The Cadets. But who knows, maybe the Cadets will inexplicably fire their whole staff and subsequently lose their 98% of their membership all while claiming everythings fine (it has been known to happen). Then, MAYBE, Spartans would have a solid shot at coming within 20 points of another world corps (yeah including pioneer). Speaking of which, can you imagine if cadets did that? gutted there staff? and if they had 25 horns at there january camp...the OUTRAGE thatw ould ensue. but for some reason with the spartans everyone seems to be saying 'its ok their going to be good no matter what!!!!!!!!!!!!' doesnt really make sense does it
  18. So what if Jersey is ranked 18th in World class going into finals week and are scheduled to compete in open class? Shouldntt they be attending world class prelims and bump other corps down? Is that fare to the other corps? how do u even determine which corps go in which division? I dont think the problems this setup causes is worth it just so the kids in blue saints know that if the blue devils are 80 points better than them or 85. and i odnt thinkt he corps that this benefit are the ones that need membership, its the ones that are losing in open class by 30 points that need more kids the most, and how is them losign in world class by 75-90 points going to make kids want to march there more?
  19. No tenors? What about CG and Front Ensemble? Are they really planning on marching with more drummers than brass?
  20. Don't worry, shortly noduttingoutloud will come on here and say they had 3 brass, -1 guard, 20 snare drums and none of the staff showed up. If it's on the internet it must be true!!!!!!
  21. the fact that very few open class corps have ever marched a full brassline.
  22. 7th Regiment BDB BDC Capital Sound Citations Colt Cadets Dutch Boy Fever Gold HYPE Impulse Les Stentors Memphis Sound Mystikal Oregon Crusaders Racine Scouts Raiders Revolution Spartans Spirit of New Jersey Spokane Thunder Targets Teal Sound SCVC VK all need brass players
