  1. I have had a personal experience with Bugles Across America and I am filled with excitement for Sun Devils to have them as a sponsor. In June of 2009 my grandpa who passed away, had earned a Purple Heart and a Silver Star during World War II and Korea, and was one of the biggest influences on my life to play and love music. At his service Bugles Across America sent out a Bugler to play and it was one of the greatest things I've gotten to experience even with so much sadness inside of me. With Bugles Across America many Veterans get to be laid to rest in the most respectful of ways, and I personally would like to thank them for not just this generous contribution but also for my personal experience and all you do for our Veterans and their loved ones.
  2. Wow, what an excellent sponsor!! LEAVE NO DOUBT SUN DEVILS!!! :wall:
  3.  I'm excited for this weekend! and to get out of the frozen tundra of north Florida.
  4. Kinda surprised no one has pointed this one out yet maybe I'm a rare fan but I LOVED Glassmen's new uni in 2009. I have yet to see a corps as a whole have such TIGHT and NICE looking uni's. Big props there.
  5. Simply an opinion but I know when I was in HS I would NOT have wanted to participate in a marching band for a football team who had zero wins. Im sure there are plenty of school's with suffering football programs who still might have a marching band but why put up such a fight to get one when you have many other positive things coming from your music program? Maybe the school should be more worried with grades and test scores rather than forcing new music programs. I hope this all gets worked out for the best and I wish Gold DBC the best of luck in trying to stay alive out there!!! I hope you can keep competing and keep making a good positive influence on the kids in that area.
  6. that is a pretty good sound there guys!!! I thought for a first year corps last year you had a very bold look and I liked that. A first year corps with a STRIPE on the pants??? that takes some... balls. =] look forward to seeing more from you guys. Just as a little side question, with the relocation/name change with Memphis Sound, did any of them jump on with you guys? Best of luck to you and I hope you make another BIG showing at championships this coming season!!!
  7. I'm thinking about buying one for the corps as a Christmas present. Maybe.
  8. I can dig it, I really hope to see you guys in these asap!
  9. I know... seems creepy. But if you do march, no matter what DCI corps it shall be, there is always naked time. And trust me, weird as it seems, you grow to love that time spent with your fellow corps members. Some of my best memories from DCI, actually pertain to naked time. Just remember these guys aren't looking at you for a date, if you have some fun with it, they will too.
  10. Love the new website guys!! Things are looking great up in ATL.
  11. My vote is for New World Symphony. 89 PR is one of my ALL time favorites. 93 Cadets as well.
  12. This season is my age out, and have been thinking about going back to Teal to age out, but now that they are going World Class how could I NOT want to be in that corps? If I can get the funds together, I'm gonna be out there. Everyone at Teal Sound has been working so hard to get the corps to where they are going and either way I'm still gonna be one proud Vet. Congratulations Teal!
  13. I knew they would be there one day!! Congrats Teal Sound, I know you guys have been wanting this for so long... Take advantage in every way, but more than anything, just remember Nothing Else Matters.
  14. I think this is a very cool idea, I would love to see a corps one day have both a DCI corps and a competitive DCA corps as well, that would be like pizza for breakfast. I'm definitely gonna be keeping my eyes on this development, Good stuff Raiders, and Good Luck!
  15. I think this is a really cool idea! Way to go guys good luck on this!!!
  16. I have NEVER been so hot on a day in November! It was well worth the heat, but man did it feel nice to get back to Jacksonville that night, it was a chilly 58 degrees.
  17. I have no doubt in my mind that Alliance will come out with another great corps and great program! I droll over your drum line every time I hear a clip or video, good stuff. Best of luck Alliance in 2010! I am positive I will be cheering for you guys at some point over the summer.
  18. I simply adore your reviews JJ. awesome awesome stuff.
  19. LOL Will I am sure you would! But in all honesty I've seen many corps charge an "audition fee" or " open house fee", I'd say it's always a well spent few dollars just for the experience of being in a drum and bugle corps, even if it's just for one day or one weekend. And some corps also add in extras such as shirts or hats, as well as sometimes put it towards member dues. What I'm interested in is how many corps don't charge for an audition, I haven't seen very many in my short experience so far.
  20. I'm in favor of the idea and although I do not prefer to march on turf, when the location is somewhere that is subject to a good amount of afternoon storms during the summer months, having turf instead of real grass would really decrease the chance of a rain out in the future. On top of being cheaper to maintain and all, it seems worth it in the end to myself, because having another Major event for DCI get rained out really sucked as a performer but it's even less fair to the paying audience who are looking to enjoy some tasty drum corps.
  21. It really was quite a day, I cannot even explain how impressed I was on many different levels. My hands are still killing me! LOL Is it December yet!?
  22. What a steal!? No wonder we have to fend everyone off with sticks. See you guys this weekend!! GO SUN DEVILS!!!
  23. I would really enjoying seeing this. I would enjoy it A LOT! but, if someone did it and got everyone in the audience on video you could upload it as a rick roll response video. LOL
  24. Now I know this is a touchy subject and I want to start off by saying my opinions are my opinions and that alone not that of the corps I am associated with. I personally don't think that the two organizations should merge, but more so have them both still work under their own charters and by-laws but have it be one umbrella company that ran both and promote both "divisions" within their own means. You could still have the two separate tours and World Championships but have centralized income and promotion which could do both companies good. Both sets of fans would still get the same shows the want from the member corps, and the activity can grow as one instead of trying to sustain two separate entities.
  25. I personally don't have any inside info on this subject but would just like to say I think I remember seeing someone on here say that once the tour schedule is released around Thanksgiving that more than likely going to be when they will announce Teal Sound as being World Class. I agree with that opinion and am excited to see them moving up if they do get the go ahead this coming season. Good luck to everyone at Teal in this coming season either way, keep doing what you are doing, I like what I've been seeing from you guys.
