  1. So, these scores won't be up for about an hour or so??
  2. Maybe my math is wrong ... was the other night ... but in Kalamazoo, Bluecoats beat Cavaliers, 86.25-85.8 (difference 0.45), and tonight it was 88.25-87.35 (difference 0.9) ... That's still really close and doesn't mean Cavaliers can't or won't, but Bluecoats actually doubled the point spread, didn't they???
  3. Nice job, Blooooooooooooo!!!!!!! If those scores are correct, Bluecoats further ahead of Cavaliers tonight than Cadets were ahead of Cavaliers a couple days ago. REALLLLLLLLLY wish Minnesota hadn't gotten rained out!!!!!!
  4. That was my fault ... I posted some incorrect math, and he called me on it! Comparing CC and BC's spreads tonight to Troopers with Cad and Cav's spreads to Troopers the other night. No worries.
  5. Yeah -- read that wrong first time. Sorry.
  6. CCrown and Bluecoats 11.3 and 11.0 ahead of Troopers ... the other night in SD, Cadets and Cavies 11.9 and 11.2 ahead of Troopers ... Saturday night in Minnesota should be tight between those four behind BD, and hopefully one or more will pass them before Indy!!!
  7. After taking fourth in 2006, breaking a barrier that was put before them prior to get into the Top 5, the pressure was on the Bluecoats to keep improving and break into the Top 3. So ... the had a show everyone loved ... their score at Finals went up ... they scored closer to the winning score ... and they finished further away from the 12th-place score ... All are indicators that they "improved" ... And yet they fell from 4th to 7th because of a major pile-up of good-to-great corps/shows. And people say they "underachieved" ... I just still don't get it ... was it a little disappointing at the time, yes, but years later, I don't get why people don't see what REALLY happened. I'm a lifetime fan of the Buffalo Bills. Back in the early 1990s when they won four straight AFC Championships, they were one of the very best teams in the NFL. Unfortunately, they lost four straight Super Bowls. At the time, it sucked and EVERYONE laughed at them and said they sucked. But as time has gone on, and as the coach and several of their top players have been elected in the Pro Football Hall of Fame (sidebar -- in Canton, Ohio, home of the Bluecoats), people FINALLY started to realize what an accomplishment that was, one that no one will ever do again in the NFL. People now say that the early 90s Bills were a very good team.
  8. As the Bluecoats prove themselves to be "contenders" early this season, people seem to like to point out 2007 when the Bluecoats were scoring high early in the season -- including, at one show, beating Blue Devils for the only time in their history and the Cavaliers for the first time in 19 years -- and then "peaking too early" and "falling" all the way to seventh at Finals, after taking fourth at Finals in 2006. Some facts ... In 2006, the Bluecoats (93.175) took 4th, finishing 4.025 behind first and 8.35 ahead of 12th. In 2007, the Bluecoats (95.05) took 7th, finishing 3.95 behind first and 9.55 ahead of 12th. That's right -- despite taking three spots lower, they actually scored higher, were closer to first and were further away from 12th. This was partially because the 4th-5th-6th-7th corps in 2007 were separated by a mere 0.8 points, and amazingly tight race and they just happened to finish on the bottom. Those are the facts. You can turn them into "peaking" and "falling" ... or ... you can turn them into 2007 actually being a slightly better year for them despite placing lower. But, everyone now-a-days likes to point out 2007 as a year the Bluecoats "peaked early" before "falling" back and not contending like it looked like they were going to. My point is that was ONE season where that opinion might arguably be true, despite the facts pointing slightly away from that opinion. But why does everyone "forget" that the Bluecoats also have a history of peaking at EXACTLY the right time? Since missing Finals in 1999 and returning in 2000, the Bluecoats have "moved up" during Finals week or the last week of the season six times ... falling in placement just once (maybe twice). In 2001, Bluecoats lost to Boston in Massillon, Ohio (Bluecoats home show), six days before Finals, then beat Boston all three shows during Finals week. In 2002, Bluecoats were tied with Glassmen in semi's, then beat them in Finals. In 2004, Bluecoats took seventh in semifinals, then jumped over CCrown in Finals. In 2005, Bluecoats were behind Madison in quarters, tied them in semi's, and beat them in Finals. In 2006, Bluecoats took sixth in semi's, then jumped both Cadets and SCV in Finals. In 2008, Bluecoats took seventh in semi's, then jumped SCV in Finals. So yes, the 2007 Bluecoats did fall behind SCV from the week before Finals to all three shows during Finals week ... and in 2002, the Bluecoats were ahead of Boston in quarters before Boston jumped Bluecoats, Glassmen and into a tie with Phantom at Finals (they did both "fall" and "jump" that season). So ... why do so many insist on remembering and pointing out one year (2007) and not the other SIX YEARS?????? ... just curious ...
  9. I didn't see Bluecoats being "noticeably cleaner" at all ... plenty of dirt to clean ... if anything, CCrown was cleaner to my eyes, as was Cavaliers. But it was only hi-cam on FN ... This is going to be a FUN few weeks, isn't it?!?!?!?!?!???!!?
  10. Head-to-head for the eight judges in Kalamazoo ... CCrown went 4-4 against Bluecoats CCrown went 6-2 against Cavaliers CCrown went 5-3 against Phantom Bluecoats went 5-3 against Cavaliers Bluecoats went 6-2 against Phantom Cavaliers went 6-2 against Phantom
  11. Come on -- get the recaps right, please. Separate the classes, please.
  12. Too bad DCI didn't record every corps' encore and sell THAT as a CD!! I'd buy it.
  13. Part I like best of Crown's show is the PRE-show. Some nice stuff there, but that doesn't get judged, right?? Prediction tonight ... 1- Bluecoats 2- Cavaliers 3- CCrown 4- Phantom 5- Blue Stars 6- Boston ... didn't get on FN early enough to see the others, sorry ...
  14. I like to look at the head-to-heads per corps per judge. Bluecoats were 4-4 against CCrown Bluecoats were 5-3 against Cavaliers Bluecoats were 5-3 against Phantom. Bluecoats were 7-1 against Boston. CCrown was 4-4 against Cavaliers. CCrown was 5-3 against Phantom. CCrown was 7-1 against Boston. Cavaliers were 6-2 against Phantom. Cavaliers were 8-0 against Boston. Phantom was 4-4 against Boston.
  15. I looked it up ... 1988 ... beat Cavaliers three times and tied them once early in the DCM season.
  16. BLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! NOW -- let's not make "Akron 2010" equate to "Centerville 2007" -- OK?!?!?!!!! But still ... BLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! When was the last time the Bluecoats beat the Cavaliers three times in one season?? If ever happened before, it was 1987 or 88 ...
  17. Recaps should be interesting ... AGAIN!!! Nice to see Bluecoats within 0.3 -- but here comes Phantom!! Can't wait for this grouping of CC, Blue, PR, Boston to start to filter among other corps again.
  18. In fact, from Bristol ... GE Visual, Rep and Perf ... CCrown ... 8.50 8.50 17.00 Bluecoats ... 8.60 8.30 16.90 If I'm reading that one judge's opinion from that one night, Bluecoats have room to grow in their show while CCrown doesn't. Not saying I agree or disagree or if that judge is right or wrong, but the original poster's point that Bluecoats don't have room to grow according to the numbers, well, that seems to be incorrect.
  19. I think the person meant that the original posts in here had .62, .81, .64 for decimals ... those certainly would have needed explaining if they were real!!!
  20. ... kinda off topic, but toward a lot people's points nonetheless ... how many years did PBS telecast DCI Finals live? what was attendance at Finals before, during and after those "live" years? was there any direct correlation between attendance going up or down and Finals being available telecast live? ... just curious ... if the point can be proven that when people were able to watch DCI Finals live for FREE on PBS, attendance went down, then DCI is right to not show Finals streaming live over the Internet ... if there was no drastic change in attendance before, during or after the years Finals were available live on TV, then I'm not sure the point can be made on either side -- that streaming DCI Finals live over a pay-subscription-plan will or won't affect attendance in Indianapolis ... ... I'm just sayin ...
  21. This is actually more "information" than most corps have given ... a key song, a show title and some artwork. In early January. When it's cccccold across most of the nation. And yet we're complaining. Gotta love DCP sometimes!!
  22. Fixed!!! Unless you were going for the missing "L" as the missing letter ... hahahaha!!
