  2. Please give that beautiful girl a big hug and kiss from her favorite Canadians!!!
  3. Ok - so I'm confused. The montage of footage that was shown during retreat on Sunday night - which included performance footage, as well as 'behind the scenes' moments, one in particular that I loved was the shot of our Director talking to our corps pre-show! Is this, or is it NOT going to be included in the Box5 DVDs?? I really, really, really hope so!!!! This was an amazing addition to the DCA event....WGI does a great job with this type of thing, and often puts out little promo videos such as 'Game Face' 'Enjoy the Moment' 'Get It' and 'In the Tunnel" - I'd love to see DCA follow suit - and be able to access this online, as well as own my own copy. Just my 2 cents!!
  4. Grenadiers are at: School # 8 1180 St Paul St Rochester, NY 14621 Radission Riverside 120 East Main Street Rochester NY 146xx
  5. omg Trish you're so right!! I forgot about them!! I loved them!!! anyone remember their show from '89 - "People, Politics, Attitudes and YOU" Woo! (darn - I miss 'vocals' in guard shows!!! ) edited for 'profanity' ??? i said the real version of darn...guess that's not polite! LOL
  6. OK - so if 94 was the naughty schoolgirls...then 93 would have been the year with the blade line on the tall stools with the long skirts? Was that also the 'Double Fiesta' year? That was my fave... Also - going back even further, do you remember when they had the collapasable geometric panels? They did the uniforms where they kept taking pieces off....and Luc jumped off of a really really high back drop? (not sure if those were all in the same year - I was little, and things kind of blend together) If I'm remembering correctly there were at least 2 years prior to the schoolgirl show that were very innovative, maybe 3? Was it VP who did the red floor with the Russian flag on it?? Again, it all blends together...
  7. Those were my formative years while in guard, so I had the good fortune to grow up with Victoriaville, as well as Sonnor to look up to! (Anyone remember the Montreal regionals? ALWAYS an amazing show!!) Victoriaville always pushed the envelope with wacky and wonderful things! I had the opportunity to march with some of the girls from VP in Drum Corps, and they were great!! Sonnor always had my heart on a string! (Peace was my idol growing up) I can't view the WGI on demand here at work, and my home computer is horribly sloow- i want to order a DVD - can anyone help me with a description of Victoriaville's shows that are offered? (year and brief music/look description?) thanks!!!!!!!!!
  8. Our ‘Backup Plan’ here in Canada is: “Flurry” Repertoire includes: Hockey Night in Canada Cherry Pink Sweet Caroline Medley of TV Themes from Danger Bay (google that!! It’s awesome!!) and The Beachcombers
  9. Well thank you so much for your kind words. I think Reading was a good show, but I really wish you had been able to see Finals…superb job done by all!!! Our show was very challenging, and I think we peaked just at the right time. This was truly the best guard I’ve ever worked with, in terms of commitment, teamwork, skill, and ‘Mojo’. I couldn’t have asked for a better group of girls! I’m glad you enjoyed our program, and as Randy says, hope you like 2010 even better. My husband Chad and I have some big changes pending, and the way things look right now, it will be geographically impossible for us to be involved with the corps for next season, but if things don’t pan out, we’ll be there! OR, if we win the lottery, we could fly up every weekend! Thanks again, Jen Hartnett-Orser Colour Guard Caption Head – 08/09 Kingston Grenadiers
  10. ‘Sirens of Kingston’ LOL Yes, they were very good, and kept our ‘Mama’ safe and sound.
  11. This member is 5 months pregnant, and was having some trouble breathing after the show. She ended up in Strong Memorial for observation overnight, and was released a few hours before Finals. She performed an 'abridged' version of the show that evening, just to make sure she didn't overdo it, and finished with a smile on her face! Mom and Baby are both just fine, and she will NOW be putting her feet up and resting for the rest of her pregnancy! :P Special thanks to the paramedics for their speedy work, Strong Memorial, and Jolesch photography for waiting so long to take our corps photo (we were hoping she and her hubby (snare player) could make it out of the ambulance in time, but did not) and to their small group photographer who RAN with our entire guard so we could take a FULL guard photo at the ambulance! Thanks also go out to Alliance – who assisted us on Sunday evening by unhooking a trailer from their truck so they could drive her up to the starting gate. We really appreciate it!!!!! Thanks to everyone for your concern, and your help! Jen Hartnett-Orser Guard Caption Head Kingston Grenadiers
  12. A big thank you to Alliance support staff (Ron?) for driving one of our guard members from the warm up area down to the gate, even though it meant unhooking your trailer, and possibly taking heat from the event staff!!! We really appreciate it!!!!!!! Grennies <3 Alliance!! Jen Hartnett-Orser~ Guard Caption Head Kingston Grenadiers
