  1. I also must say I do not what is truly going on in Memphis but I have been through a similar situation in terms of staff leaving drastically. In 2006, days before our April Camp we lost our whole percussion staff and visual staff which led to a loss of almost our full drumline which went from 25 down to about 6 drastically. We marched with 32 members, qualified for semifinals in Division III and finished 9th place. So I know what you guys are going through. Stay strong, don't give up, and I hope to see Memphis on the field this summer along with us and the rest of of the Open Class.
  2. Yes they may have been talked about a lot on here, that doesn't mean their show wasn't underrated, they should have finished way higher, I would say their show was better than any of the Top 3 from last year, BD is close though
  3. I guess I have just been lucky so far, my old and current band directors have both been in the activity. My previous director wrote the brass book for the Scouts in 1988 and other years, and my current director marched Scouts in 1998.
  4. I would have to say Crown 07 Bluecoats 05 06 07 I feel all of these shows were great and deserved much better than what they finished especially crown's show last year, I would say it was the best show in DCI last year in terms of crowd interaction.
  5. I feel that Open Class corps are different then World Class corps, I think it is very difficult for Open Class corps to gain attention because of the old "division 2/3" style, hopefully the change allows for fans to talk about Open Class corps, not just the World Class. What do you mean by the main theme of World Class? I believe each Open Class corps has their own identity and way of entertaining the crowd, many people just don't know about it yet.
  6. Another I think that earns praise is 2007 Carolina Crown, I thought their show really encompassed the activity. I find it funny how my favorite shows from last year contained none that were in the top 3.
  7. 1989 SCV No one will ever top that show
  8. Yeah I agree, with so many score variances around the US, without corps at the same show it would be difficult to compare any of them
  9. look for Capital Sound to be in the 75-80 range at least, maybe more than that!
  10. yes but all those corps continued 2 weeks later than we did. when we finished, we were at the top of division III brass
  11. I was lucky enough to try on the "prototype" this past summer and I already loved it, I can't wait to see the new one this season!
  12. We are still in need of guard for this summer, contact marc if you are interested
  13. I just wanted to say I voted for Capital Sound for obvious reasons, we were at the top of Division III brass last year with half the number of brass Memphis Sound had
