  2. Normally its written within the spaces (that i've had) and when its a unison its written on the middle line (treble clef: b)
  3. I know for when I marched bass.. We used right hand because it was all of our dominant hands, along with the fact that the right hand was on the opposite side of the audience... Its become a norm with a lot instructors now, to have the basses head with their right hand, every instructor i've had for the past 4 years has always said right hand unison/head.
  4. I love the all access videos... The Bass Line is by far my favorite section...in any ensemble! I give them respect for lugging around those basses everyday, and the fact that the bass book (i think) is probably one of the best melodies every part of the music. But, I really think the 08 bass line is gonna go down in books for being absolutely on point 24/7! ALSO! cadets are on a streak this summer!! 1 The Cadets 77.400 2 Boston Crusaders 73.800 3 Blue Stars 70.500 4 Troopers 65.400 5 Pioneer 58.800

  7. yay I am glad to hear the news the corps is doing very well in competition!! !! can't wait to :hopefully: run Dr. Beat soon
  8. I don't understand why everyone cannot be positive about any corps even though they dislike the concepts... we all share the same love of drum corps as do each member of every corps. we're a community... The cadets are pushing forward with new innovations each season and each show, and people don't like change? thats okay, but what if there was never a change in drum corps...ever, like putting in a pit, or having drill that was just block instead of the infamous "z-pull"?

  11. The way I see it: The show concept is based upon a female trying to find herself, from starting her own "life" out at college, to her 4th round of drinks at a couple, pursuing the perfect man, and her pursuit of material things. I believe that George Hopkins, truly put together an amazing concept for such an idea -- Every American has their own dream, and executes their own destiny, and this is the way that George saw hers. Thomas Jefferson replaced PROPERTY with HAPPINESS, when he went through with re-reading, and perhaps, the way the concept designer saw it was, with a little bit of history behind it. Everyone sees things differently, and when seeing a show, one should always be open with a mind, until they have seen it perhaps more than once, or perhaps seeing ever... It is not the idea if the portrayal of the story is accurate from the "Political" standpoint, but instead I see the story quite accurate to the womans questions, she loved her family, but she strived to be the best she could be all around, from being a mother to a working woman, to a survivor of cancer. Also... If everyones "Political Philosophy" were the same, we would never have any problems, ergo... the whole post would be null. When you view this years show for the Cadets, do not think its just another "Mic and Core" and "Your Own Self Thoughts/Portrait", instead see it through the looking glass, into another's perspective.
