  1. Unfortunately, I didn't see it that way. I left before the scores and was talking to a friend on the way home who did stay for the scores. I believed Mandarins would best both Regiment and Cadets. That's how I read it from the theatre seats.
  2. Easy. Instead of the 'blob' build into the front, turn the blob into a chevron! I called that a long time ago!
  3. 1. BD (again) 2. Coats 3. Crusaders 4. Crown 5. Mandarins 6, Cadets 7. Regiment 8. Cavaliers 9. Troopers 10. Colts 11. Crossmen 12. Blue Knights What I want to see is vastly different.
  4. This may be true, butt, can they get points out of judges? That still remains to be seen.
  5. WRONG! Somehow, magically, that spread will increase to over a point. Calling it now 8/5/23 10:35AM PST!
  6. This assumes that the percussion judge(s) don't also assigned BD a perfect score. It could happen!
  7. If you all want to send them to me, PM me and I'll send you the mailing address. I haven't heard anything from the corps yet, but I don't want to drag this out too long. So far I have a total of 5. Only 195 to go! As I indicated, if you have sent them to the DCX museum (like I did) you can reach out to him to ask for them back for this purpose.
  8. Here are the first two I received from Oscar Menoskyhttps://apis.mail.yahoo.com/ws/v3/mailboxes/@.id==VjN-O_Ieg_4lw0W6kQgjYf0YHG35bDL81bDutvxFFkbxXWDyX9OC3n1RxcKdfeEa13R5kyNWTsPFrP5qvMFDt7aRWg/messages/@.id==AEataW0mqb4wZMk-zQ3qgCaX7xQ/content/parts/@.id==2/thumbnail?appid=YMailNorrin&downloadWhenThumbnailFails=true&pid=2 https://apis.mail.yahoo.com/ws/v3/mailboxes/@.id==VjN-O_Ieg_4lw0W6kQgjYf0YHG35bDL81bDutvxFFkbxXWDyX9OC3n1RxcKdfeEa13R5kyNWTsPFrP5qvMFDt7aRWg/messages/@.id==APTuRORjJP2XZMk-wQLWkKYCPF4/content/parts/@.id==2/thumbnail?appid=YMailNorrin&downloadWhenThumbnailFails=true&pid=2 My goal is to get at least 200! Come one people!
  9. OMG! ๐Ÿ˜ I just want it to flow better rather than coming across as three separate movements. Lets start with the front and just keep building the intensity all the way through to the end. BTW, I still anticipate a chevron to replace the blob that is the form they build the front from. If I get that, you can have your 'kick out'.
  10. Not a BD homer but, I LOVED 88. They were hosed, and I never say that about BD.
  11. I just feel the ending is disjointed where they have the FOP (front of power) and transition to the Bari solo and then another transition to the up-tempo section. To me, the untrained ear, it doesn't flow well.
  12. I guess they are going to live or die with that ending. I guess we'll know in 2 weeks.
  13. THIS is what I've been saying all along. Disjointed is the term I used. I would 86 that bari solo as it stops the natural flow of the music (IMO).
  14. I haven't heard back from Tony yet so, let's hold off until I know what to do. I am hoping to get a large number of shirts rather than just a sprinkling.
  15. Update! I talked to Bill Ives from the DCX Museum and he has agreed to send back the Regiment T's I sent him after they have been inventoried and photographed. I told him there was no rush to get it done this year. So, for anyone else that may have sent him Regiment Ts and you want to participate in this great opportunity, pleas reach out to him using the 'Contact Us' link on the DCX website - DCX - Drum Corps Xperience (dcxmuseum.org) Thanks in advance for your participation!
  16. Dave:

Is it safe to assume that they only have old Regiment T's?

  17. Don't get too excited, it's not what you think. I don't know how longs it's been going on but, Regiment alumni have been bringing their old corps t-shirts to shows to give to current Regiment members. I personally think this is an AWESOME thing to do. Unfortunately, I had sent a lot of mine to the DCX Museum. I have reached out to them to try and get them back and am awaiting a response. In the meantime, while it may be too late for this year and since I won't be attending any shows in person, I am reaching out all Regiment alumni or even those of you that may have old (or not so old) Regiment, (or other corps) t-shirts to donate to the cause. I am willing to be the repository of the shirts and I am sure the corps would love it. Rather than post your responses here, please just message me. Sincerely,
  18. And who would that be? ๐Ÿ˜ Look, whatever it is, or isn't, should be unique to the production. I'm not sure there is anything 'new' that hasn't already been tried by someone at some point. I still maintain that cleaning what you have, even if it doesn't involve a new or unique move, is better served in the long run.
  19. I'm suggesting that it WON'T impact the score either way so, with that in mind, why re-write part of the show (rather than just cleaning what you have which will impact the score) just to add something that, more than likely, will not be the difference between 5th and 6th.
  20. Look, I'm as traditionalist as anyone on here, but rehashing the old is not, IMO, putting 'their' signature on the show. If the members want to do it, fine. I just would prefer a re-write not be done to appease the Dino's (of which I am one). We're just going to have to disagree on this.
  21. To me, yes. If you need to be reminded of the past, you are not fully appreciating the present. This is their time. Let them produce a 'moment' that they will want to see in subsequent shows (though, not endlessly).
  22. IMO, they should NOT do the kick-out as that signals, 'well, we have to do something to push up our score, even if it totally doesn't fit with the theme'. This show is as close to playing the game as they have ever been in the last decade. Let's not try to infuse a gimmick that in all reality, will not do anything to improve their score. Flame away!
  23. /Next time we see the Dung is 7/22. It'd be nice not to be 7 points behind.
