  1. looks like DCA is gonna be pretty small this year...
  2. MBI goes full uniform. They pass water down the rows between songs to prevent any issues. Kilties go full uni as well. I believe Govies do too, not 100% sure on that one. Chops wear red/white hawaiian shirts with black athletic shorts.
  3. Would people be there to see DCA or DCI? Save the "best" for last so would the DCI corps go last, first, mixed?
  4. Its the same way in the midwest. We attend 3-5 DCI shows every year under the All-Age "division". DCI judges on DCA sheets.
  5. The midwest DCA corps have shows saturday night and sunday afternoon. Its the only way to get a decent amount of DCA shows in. The rest are all DCI shows. MBI for example are doing 3 DCI shows, 4 Midwest DCA shows and 2 Eastcoast DCA shows (including finals)
  6. I joined MBI my first year of knowing what drum corps was and have been there ever since (not like it was too long ago ) I have one year left (2011) before I age out. It would be nice to march DCI but its looking more and more like I will not be able to. Sure I will be bummed but its nice to know I still have MBI as an option to feed my hunger for drum corps.
  7. That is the part Minnesota Brass will be playing. The show has middle eastern feel and I dont think the rest of One Night In Bangkok would fit into that theme
  8. I am skeptical about your logic... 2010 seems to be shaping up as one for the history books. is it june yet?
  9. cant go wrong with that! (unless DCA decides on finals night to go golf style and say lowest score wins)
  10. Its a heavy rain all day and people actually say they like LOS because they didnt get wet
  11. They would claim the "GOLD" finish on the horns was meant to represent "BRONZE"
  12. I hear they are going to be black this year... just a rumor more than likely.
  13. This was not at a show but at a rehearsal. Me and a few friends on semi-finals? day 2009 went to watch the cavaliers practice at some high school. On our way to the field some construction worker or something like that on street asked us "what high school band is that?" We all just got a weird look on our faces, looked around at each other (you could tell we were trying to figure out who was going to tell him who it really was) and someone finally said it was the cavaliers drum and bugle corps. The guy got a weird look on his face and said "huh"... just another person missing out on drum corps.
  14. It was between MBI 08 and 09 for me 2009 by far trumped 08 as far as performing/score/music goes. That being said, I ended up voting 2008 because hearing some of the long time vets talk about how much it really meant to them and how awesome it was to make history beat out how cool of a show 2009 was.
  15. same here... thought "ahh, ill give it a try..." BEST DECISION EVER.
  16. hmm... you must be getting old. You cant remember the 2 years I've marched with you... you should see a doctor! and yes, i will be back for season #3!
  17. Sect. 141, row 14 and 17. (side one 40) It was pretty good overall, not as bad as what some people are saying on here. Some of the licks and runs by hornlines and drumlines were muffled and hard to hear because of the echo. Overall I would say these are pretty nice seats. Visually on the other hand... cant see forms worth jack, but the jumbo screen helped.
  18. I dont believe it will. We love drum corps around here, and the shows are about a month apart. (if im not mistaken) Also having MN Brass should help too seeing as a lot of members work and teach at local schools so there should be a lot of high school students there. All I can say is this date is marked on my calender.
