  1. It would seem that we will need upwards of 60 hats of some sort. Please email me at chcmb@hotmail.com if you would be willing to sell a used set of Shakos or Phantom Helmets, preferably with plumes. Thank you
  2. Hello. Are you still interested in selling your shakos? We are looking to make a purchase relatively soon, Please contact me at chcmb@hotmail.com with the number of shakos you have and the asking price. Thank you

  3. How much are you asking? Thanks

  4. Hello. I am looking for a set of used Shakos or otherwise useable Uniform hats. We are planning to customize them, so they need not be in perfect condition. Looking for a set of 50+. Please contact me if you have a set you would be willing to sell for a reasonably low price. renegade43@live.com
  5. I like Dynasty tubas, the M875 is a good horn. I own one, and have corrected what I believe are a few "defects," the stock horn sat too far forward, like the K90, and also seemed to ply flat, so I had 2 inches removed from the leadpipe, solved both problems. Also had the thumb ring moved from the 1st valve to the leadpipe so its actually useful. Even without those changes, it was still the nicest combination of hold, power, and tone.
  6. I have 2 old sets of Ludwig quads I'm restoring, one of which is from the 1983 Freelancers. They are currently in pieces, and all I have is the drums themselves, no harness hardware. I'm looking for an aluminum rack/harness combo that I can bolt the drums to. Any ideas? Thanks!
  7. Hello. I am specifically looking for one set of white bibbers. Also, I would like to find a matched set of 30-40 hats, shakos, or helmets, preferably with plumes.Age/condition not important, as we're using them for just a few special events this fall. Please let me know if you have anything laying around you'd be willing to donate to a 501c3, or sell for a "get rid of it" price. Thanks!

  10. I would never doubt a corps work ethic. Also, I thoroughly enjoyed both of their shows this year. But, its obvious that SCVC and BDB are larger and quite a higher caliber than any of the corps in their division, and therefore, should not be competing against them. I feel the Open Class would be much more meaningful of corps could actually compete for a championship, rather than just handing it to a corps that is too big and too good to be in that division.
  11. I'd much rather see BDB and SCVC get swamped in with the lower-scoring corps in World Class, than see deserving DIVISION 3 corps lose their shot to compete. If I was in corps such as Impulse, Gold, etc, I'd be pretty upset that DCI has these full sized corps competing in my division just because they are supposed to be feeder corps for world class....in other words, move BDB and SCVC to world class and see how they do! Is there any scoring standard to see how BDB and SCV would do in world class? I know years ago it used to be your division 2/3 score minus 20 points, or something lame like that....
  12. Have you found one yet? How much are you looking to spend? Brass or fiberglass?
  13. Hello. Where could I buy drum corps music for Itunes?
  14. The Citrus Heights Community Marching band is actively seeking Colorguard. We perform primarily parades and public concerts, but we are planning to venture into field show this fall. If you would like more information, please contact me :-)
  15. Does anyone know of any corps getting new unis this year? If so, could you put up a picture or description? Thanks
  16. Why do so many people WANT woodwinds? I'll be the first to admit that there are opportunities, etc, when you open the doors to something now. But, just because you can and you could, doesnt mean you SHOULD! I'm already saddened that dci has allowed electronics and Bb horns, I think I will no longer support youth drum corps if woodwinds are involved. No tickets, no souvies, nothing.....
  17. May be a poor analogy but, I like to think that...Sopranos are the MEAT...Bari's are the Potatoes and Mello's are the GRAVEY that makes it all work. Just sayin........ Yeah, and Contras are the plate they all sit on (either that or the vegetables...:-)
  18. Actually, you'd need about 5'6" of tubing, and cutting it straight would be quite difficult, but there are similar items out there that would do the same job. If you are crafty and ambitious, then go for it. Personally, I think those Tuba Feet are ugly and totally useless. They would probably protect the horn if you only used it once in a while on a nice, smooth hard surface, but without complete bell coverage, you would end up with scratches on grass, concrete and asphalt, which is where you need the protection anyway!. Also, anything too heavy or thick around the edge of the bell would cause distortions in the sound, which is worth a few scratches in the end.
  19. If someone has something to do with a corps and wants to spend a large sum of $ to represent that with a permanent mark on their bodies, go for it. But, if you're just a fan and you really like tattoos, then please do the right thing and send that $200 or so as a donation to your favorite corps. Imagine how many souvenirs you could get that would show so much support as a fan of your favorite corps? Heck, you could buy a T shirt, hat, hoodie, and sweats all from the same corps. I'd rather spend $200 for a full outfit to show my support of a corps, then spend $200 on a tattoo that everyone would give me a hard time about..... Even better, spend that $200 on a camp weekend at your favorite Senior Corps...then you really will have something to be proud of!
  20. I think they should work with LOS to try to modify the acoustics. If LOS wants to be difficult, DCI has a whole list of other venues ready for the $ championships will bring their local economies. As far as the synthesizers, what I heard coming from those speakers was not drum corps. I think the sounds the synthsizers were making was embarassing, and I hope that 2009 was an experimenting year that most corps have learned their lesson from. If you notice when amplification was legalized, all the corps had some form of narration. Some corps made their whole shows just blabbering with pointless impacts. But, last year they all seemed to steer away from that, and I'd be willing to bet that before long, drum corps will start reverting back to what really works.
