  1. No, I like drum corps >>>.<<<(period) This is just pointless, you know the answers will all be no. I genuinely believe no one would walk away. Too many people are way to invested in this activity. This applies to woodwinds, synths, and all the other bs that people always complain about. You would still find SOMETHING that you liked, and watch. Oh, you would complain, but you would still watch. If for no other reason than to post on DCP about it.
  2. Not necessarily that people don't like, but how about Cadets 01 and Cadets 92? Never talked about. Cadets 92 had a killer mello line.
  3. No, no corps would turn down someone that is willing to help. I would assume you are doing it to pass time during the summer, why not march? You're only 18 after all.
  4. Lots of different methods. Whatever works for your time schedule, and fits you. Depends on your goals, are you trying to boost your level of fitness and make your body feel better? Get ready for some type of sport/competition? Or just want to look good?
  5. I am just now starting the Insanity program after completing P90X. It is made by the same company as P90X, and is great so far. No equipment at all is required. Focuses are on core, and cardio! Two great things for drum corps! Can't wait to see how I feel during the summer after going through these two programs.
  6. You do lose the convenience factor of being able to workout at home. Some of those workouts require membership to a gym, which may not be feasible to some people. Although, I will admit it is a great way to get in shape. All in all comes down to personal preference, do what works for you and what you wanna do.
  7. That would be awesome! I suggest that all of us that are doing/have done it and marching this year really take note and see how it helps. Extremely curious to see what happens!
  8. Yeah I finished P90x about a month ago. I just started it again, and will finish by summer. I'm sure it will help out a lot during spring training.
  9. I'll be auditioning in 30 days for Spirit of ATLANTA'S mello line.
  10. Today, I was thinking about how good it feels to leave it all out on the field after a show. At the end of a performance I am so happy. Not because it's over, but because I've given it my all and left nothing inside of me. It's one of the greatest feelings I have ever felt.... Tell about a moment, or your last performance on the field, perhaps in Finals when you had this "high" after performing, and you left in tears knowing all the hard work and effort payed off.
  11. I am currently attending high school in state right now. I'm pretty sure we could use a decent mello instructor next year... do you know Brandon Peters? PM me we can talk more
  12. Ray Vasquez has officially resigned from his position of co-brass caption head with Spirit Drum and Bugle Corps. " Great times with Spirit, but now time to move on to other areas of music performance and education. Keep it up Spirit, I will be rooting for you." http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=702...9146&ref=ts
  13. Hey thanks again! Oh and by the way, you have a beast name
  14. Hey thanks a lot! I just figured I would go ahead and get used to it so if I made the corps, things would be a little easier.
  15. Hey guys, I've just got some general questions about the mello. I am planning on marching Spirit this year and was wondering what type of mouthpiece their mellos use as well as what do other corps use in comparison? Also how are parts split for the music arrangements, and what are some general tips for mello/DCI in general? Thanks for reading P.S. I play horn
  16. What would happen if you didn't bring any money while on tour? I would assume you would just have to deal with it right?
  17. Yeah, I was looking at Amtrak rates for Birmingham, AL to Charlotte, NC and it was $85 one way. I'm not trying out for Crown this year, but I might take the train when I do.
  18. Have you guys' considered taking a train to your camps?
  19. So pretty much the best way to get the music is to become affiliated with a certain corps?
  20. Interesting, Mr.Palmer works with my high school's percussion, did not know he was part of the Coats'...
