The Devs are smart... the crab looking marching is the foot at a 45 degree angle creating a better platform for the marcher moving side to side. In creates the consistent straight leg you see in Devs and makes it more comfortable for the performer. It's just like the placement (prep step) that was put into their marching years ago. Smart, smart smart... they evolve quickly.

The problem is... they weren't better. A little hype involved with thier DL. MBI was so very impressive from an ensemble stand point... Hurcs were possibly more clean as well.

How does a percussion score get 10's when there was dirt in snare breaks and a tear... a TEAR! I was at DCA and heard it... it wasn't a debacle of a tear but none the less.

Yes they are... and only going to improve.

The corps will be better with Tom rather than Brent... agreed.

My humble thoughts, I've seen the top 5. 1-Bucs 2-Minnesota 3-Hurcs 4-Cabs 5-Empire The closest finals ever... tenths separating the top 3 and the a point drop to 4-5. Awesome shows, awesome groups, fun times in DCA!

touchy touchy... It is a good move for the growth of the corps... I know horror stories about how the admin (BF) works. Brent M. retired? ... more like forced out. There are ways a corps can grow and make moves to better the group in a healthy constructive manner for both the organization and the people who have helped during the growth process. It doesn't happen there! Cut throat and tasteless... Some will bash me, thats fine. And some will say business is business but in this activity one would hope there is some level of loyalty. But it is what it is, simple as that.

I have chosen to keep my personal info off the forum. I see you're from CT Great work from the corps that performed, I like some better than others but I KNOW everyone is working hard! Finals will be a great, entertaining show.

Patience? I'm talking about Saturday night, that performance... over-hyped. Sure they have time to clean but other groups performed better that night (in my opinion) and groups should not get credit for "when its clean it will be good", if its good its good, if its sloppy its sloppy. It's quite obvious you are bias... DCI is in my title it doesn't imply I don't know or understand DCA... g.o.y.

160bpm at small steps = not much If their brains catch up? So are you saying they are sloppy... I really think that if all DCA corps were at shows more often on the east coast things would be different. MBI got one read all season with other competitive (top 5) DCA corps, it makes a difference.

Bucs - good drum corps, hornline ok... easy book, good drill that moves Hurcs - over-hyped! everything is slow and sloppy (should be 4th) MBI - should be in second (bucs too good), hornline power with cool music, drumline awesome and the drill is second only to bucs Empire - loud and fun music, move slow and not much Cabs - hornline is good, drill is minimal (should be 3rd) Bush - big guard thats about it

Bucs are still undefeated! Other corps will really need to show up to beat them. MBI sounds like they could be good but who really knows? We see Hurcs close this year in earlier shows but still not over the hump. Something is going to happen. maybe MBI is not worth the hype, maybe Bucs lose, maybe Hurcs Win?

MBI _ going places...great staff, good numbers, good talent...roll with the up and coming underdog!

I dont know you or any of your prior comments on dcp...I am speaking my opinion... and yes when the ceo of a company doesn't get results, he/she is to blame...that person is the face, voice and decision maker

Grade C- Though some good is evident through the fan network we only have approx. 20 corps in existence in World and not many in Open class...there are many factors to groups going under but DCI/Dan has not implemented strategies to save the small corps (DCI does not pay them anymore) or effective marketing strategies...yes he took over something that was headed for disaster but popularity and public knowledge is still quite low.
