BD pulls it off....

Certain corps that wear aussies dont have to worry about it as much, but people with shakos do more often... I have noticed based on the make of contra some contras heads tilt to one side because the contra is too big and runs into their shako/helmet. Shakos and helmets, from what I understand, were made to make the performers look taller... doesnt the contra already sit higher than all of the other horns and performers? Some corps have the contras wear cabbies to make them look straighter and avoid the tilt but some corps like the Cadets just ride it out. Personally if the horn doesnt interfear with what ever the rest of the corps is wearing, then by all means keep it... but the tilt just bugs me when you see it moving around on the field and especially in pictures! That is exactly the piece I was thinking of... My high School Director marched their 99 show and he said the orginal score they were given for the piece had 1996 for the year arranged. Thats the only info I have though

I think SCV, Cadets, and Devs will be quoting some previous year music this year.

1999 Cadets used almost Identical music from their western show... i think that was 1995? They just changed it from a round up to a busy street life. Great Show by the way...

I have a few actually... -One of my high school teachers sons marched Madison in the 90's for 3 years. -A neighbor down the street from me saw my corps logo sticker on my car and and asked if I marched DC. Turned out he marched Phantom. -And last, my little bro is in high school and he was wearing his bluecoats shirt after finals in 07 and his teacher and him ended up talking about DCI and my bro found out that the teachers nephew was DM for Phantom in the 90's I think. Good way to start off the school year.

How do you get the horizontal drum corps logo for your signature? Did the cadets trumpets in the 2000 hand wave part really play each others horns, or did the people beind them play the part while they imitated it?

21. Academy (not getting the love they deserve..see them going the way of Star...) Going the way of Star? Like winning? I dont see that happening for a long time. Or folding and becoming a Natonal Touring stage show? I dont see that happening for a long time either. I will agree with not getting what they deserve. They should have been in finals in 07. Last years show was a very difficult brass book and they pulled it off greatly and should have had them place higher with that alone. The rest of that show was just poorly disgned. Werent they in the top 10 for both brass and percussion at one point in the season? Not good enough for finals but they should have at least been in semi's.

So if you watch the "Up Close with Koji Mori" (sorry if I botched that) on the FN, around the 1:20 mark you see at least 1 flugal in front of the corps. Or could that be another instrument?
