  1. ok I get why my saying "Crown took high brass was surprising" sounds crazy Obviously they do that a lot! I was just surprised last night when they took high brass because frankly they didn't sound good on the feed - but I wasn't there so... Anyway - I get what your saying. Sorry - it's never really "a shocker" when they take high brass. I should explain myself better I guess
  2. I thought BD had it. I guess there's something funny about that.
  3. wow - this guy obviously is lip synching - he is way too thin to have some a deep voice - clearly not his https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kTa0fBGt8tw
  4. I think if Cadets wouldn't have ended in a mess set AND put their show silks and guard uniform changes in that gap would have been smaller. Crown's brass win was a little surprising to be honest.
  5. Agree. I think with several of the corps currently chasing BD the next 2 weeks of changes will tell the tale of the season. With the right changes Cadets could easily challenge - a point out is nothing. But just adding some guard uniform changes isn't going to get it done. They need to rewrite the last portion of the show and add a few other wow moments Coats ending is not satisfying at all - and they should revisit that decision too. Crown is another one needing a few key changes It's going to be interesting to see where this all goes. Really enjoyed all the corps last night - a great season that could be really tremendous with some smart choices over the next couple weeks.
  6. Dude, just stop - both Cadets & BD's shows are harder visually. Entertainment - that's your call.
  7. that's what HE said. Seriously, that's what he said!
  8. Looks good except Sleep is canceled until further notice!
  9. I was talking about Coats drum placement with this judge... I know Cavaliers line is scoring well. Sorry for the confusion if I'm mistaken.
  10. They can't. but yet the did. Funny because during the run I kept thinking / even commenting, on how strong Coats guard was tonight. They were so on.
  11. I'm really not sure why Marie or whatever her name is judges - absolutely clueless.
  12. Sorry but I'm not getting the SCV score. That said I didn't get their score at finals last year either, felt they were about 2 points too high so maybe it's just me. Lol
  13. I hate to think this way - but this is the second time this year (?) this has happened and it is very out of line with the other readings... Coats got a little hosed by drum & guard judges tonight. Not seeing these gaps.
  14. Percussion a little unexpected tonight as well. Hmmmm.
  15. I'm not getting the guard scoring at all - a 1.2 gap between Coats & SCV?? My least favorite DCI judge too.
  16. It's hard to tell based on just watching it online but I'd put Coats ahead of SCV by about a half point. I still see the top 3 as BD/Cadets/Crown but the gap may shrink. I think Cavaliers opened up a little over PR. All just a guess. I'd say Coats took drums, BD or Cadets took music and one of those just over Crown in Brass. GE will probably be BD/Cadets/Crown/Coats/SCV/Cavaliers if I had to place money on it I wouldn't put more than a 20.
  17. what a great set of top corps! Wow. Hard to believe there's almost 4 weeks left. They will be amazing in Indy! SCV was very good - only my first viewing and just watching online. I do think they spend a lot of energy and time moving the boxes around for not much effect. Ballad is very strong and obviously the drum line and pit. That pit plays a million notes!
  18. SCV show feels a lot like last years thematically and pacing, but a little less emotional at this stage I'm not sure the guard is as well staged. That dance with the mello solo last year was just magical Do they use dot to dot? Seems like some issue with leaning into direction changes vs. controlling their midsection - in some individuals The snare line & cymbals are AMAZING Really looking forward to seeing this live.
  19. ooops - fixed it / thanks for the heads up! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oyb39zUqeq0
  20. Great run by Crown tonight - much better than Saturday. Watching the brass and listening the unusual individual issues we're seeing/hearing seem to be from visual demand and the blocking of rest and breaths in the line. Something the staff will sort through in the coming weeks, more a factor of the changes they've made. Overall the corps continues to clean well and absorb many musical and visual changes. Once they settle on the package - watch out Amazing talent in that group. And they really know how to go out there and PERFORM with a lot of energy and excitement. That's something hard to teach. Both BD & Cadets are more "surgical" right now.
  21. I like the show. I'd put it musically down below The Grass is Always Greener by a long shot. I personally loved Second Chance a lot musically as well.. love Nimrod, maybe that's just me. I like it musically the same as LY
  22. I can't believe I'm typing this BUT great job with the frisbee - that's a lot more difficult from an ensemble perspective than some might think - what a cool effect!
  23. the visual dirt is causing some individuals to stick out musically - especially in the brass. As you I love the show. Someone else said they should do double-visual blocks for a week. I agree. Take a page from Crown LY
