  1. Cadets snip three: http://youtu.be/0AaecUrZ7Rw
  2. I know I'm sounding like a complete homer but this is a darn good drum corps and it is only June.
  3. Cadets snip 2: http://youtu.be/U02dYbskJFg
  4. Field coverage and instrument placing ie musicality in this drill is just incredible. Appreciate it a lot more in person than online. The sound is always coming from the right spot. And the drill transitions are very efficient.
  5. Cadets snip: http://youtu.be/vi3EM8n7WO4 Should work now. I apologize for the quality as sun is setting behind Corps. I will try to add a better one
  6. Cadets rehearsal snip: http://youtu.be/jLI02iD0NTE
  7. Gino just told the brass to bring more sound. My ears are bleeding lol. Wow.
  8. At cadets ensemble. Corps just starting to chunk thru the show. Working on the opening statements right now. Feedback has mostly been timing related things so far. Great energy coming off the field. This Corps is Very good. Brass powerful as crap.
  9. I'm not sure I agree with this. Cadets content is tougher than Coats. That said I love Coats show and hope it does very well this year.
  10. Cadets have historically been a mess, especially visually, early season...
  11. not at the show tonight but last year I was I had zero cell signal in the stands... so we may not get too much live...
  12. that's a big issue for Crown this year - effect -- IMO they are doing a lot of cool things but not to great effect.. Eliminating a few things would help... along with rearranging the ballad which loses impact and strays too far from the rest of the program obviously the kids switching horns is a neat idea, and tough to do, but if you're going to have them all back field you could frankly create as much volume and heighten the effect by just staging the upper brass at the front of the field... Same with the trampolines - they clutter the field and get lost in everything else - moving them up front would probably help, or eliminating them would probably improve the impact of the drill and prove less distracting Last year's program was a master design class in effect - this year I think they got too many ideas in the mix or too many cooks in the kitchen Some salt and rue is in order... Nothing that can't be fixed easily! Corps is crazy talented and I absolutely love the last 2 mins.
  13. you should make that drive - always remember it's the journey, not the destination a little prophetic I know, but the older I get the more I appreciate these opportunities...
  14. oh wow - stay positive! 1 show does not a trend make, let alone a season!
  15. ehh- I've seen that pattern from them as well they've had some great programs in the past but just haven't ramped up the performance level or cleanliness the final twenty days of the season and others pass by or pull away that said I've been around this activity for a LONG time and my gut says this year will be different. I'd advise you to keep the faith they have the show of the year - don't lose faith until the second or third regional if they are in the top 3 then, they have a real shot IMO
  16. I agree it is a bit "flat" right now - like a history lesson in spots and that always bored me They have some work to do to bring out the excitement - especially in the middle portion of the program.
  17. Coats took drums, Crown took horns, Cadets & Crown tied for Music. Both GE judges put Cadets first by about a half point total. Cadets took visual as well as guard. and performance.... Going on memory of the grid they showed in the theater but that's the gist of it. GE was very tough on Boston.
  18. I agree as well. They need to add visual demand and stuff that guard book. The last month may be very good to them.
  19. Blue has a great vehicle that can/will compete with the top 3 - I'd put them just ahead of SCV right now and right behind Crown -- I'd expect Crown to make significant changes to their program. Coats need to make additions, musically it is right there. Guard does seem a step behind the other top corps. Visually probably a little demand to add. Also judges first read - frankly I don't think it will sort itself out until the first or second regional weekend when I'd expect Bluecoats to move up I personally would have put them much closer and possibly ahead of Crown but it is very hard to tell not being there in person
  20. the cadets scored a 76 and change Carolina scored a 74 and change
  21. So cadets win by a healthy margin Coats take percussion, they have an amazing line Crown takes brass.. Cadets win both ge judges, visual and guard and music ensemble
  22. Bluecoats hit the field with the freshest program to enter dci since crown wowed us with The Grass is Always Greener way back in 2009 or so Like that program I wouldn't be surprised to see this Corps in number two spot fighting for a championship come finals night Orange is definitely the new blue!
  23. Crown was absolutely terrific Drums much improved. I absolutely love the end two minutes of the program Horn line is having some uncharacteristically tough time with her their entrances and attacks Very very good Corps.
  24. Cadets have a great show but also a lot to do. Tempo issues, ensemble tears and a bunch of feet sound in the horns and drums. Guard is way ahead of last year. We'll received in the theater here.
