  1. Just saw that Santa Clara Vanguard, in 88 and 89 played the same show. Why was this? Any particular reason?
  2. 1989 SCV. This was the year they performed Phantom of the Opera, which is one of my favorite pieces for drumcorps. My god did they pull it off well. This show gave me chills and goosebumps that only 2 other shows have gave me more. 1983 Garfield Cadets. This show was amazing, to sum it up. The drill was unlike I've ever seen in my life....everything was expanded and huge. This show is intense...I love it. 1990 SCV. This show was so COOL! The best part about this show, was when the whole corps left the field and walked through the entrance tunnel. There were only a dozen or so people left on the field, who were doing choreography. You are wondering "Whats going on here?" and all of a sudden you hear this magical end note come from the tunnel. The hornline plays the last note of their show IN the tunnel. I'm positive they received penalty, but it's still amazing and worth it IMO. 1991 Star This show....is another show. They showed up for a few years and BLEW the house down. I love the show so much....the Mello's as posted earlier are RIDICULOUS! I really love the drill in this show. Every set is perfect. It was another magical year for star. Also, my band director, Jim Peer, marched euphonium with them in 91. 2008 Phantom Regiment. This show quenched the thirst for THAT show that the crowd has been waiting for. They connected with the crowd and this show was so emotional, it is easily one of the best shows of all time. I march right now with 2 good people from that corps, and you can tell they marched in one of "the greatest corps of all time" Seriously. That's my list.
  3. I'm not exactly sure myself. Sorry to bring up this old "rumor" It wasn't my intentions to stir up the pot. Everyone's over what happened anyway, so bring it on 2010!
  4. Your yelling at the wrong guy. I have nothing against your corps! I agree...rivalry is what makes this sport fun. See you!
  5. I think cocky was the wrong word for him/her to use there. I remember hearing from other members of my corps that they were selling some items at the Souvie booth that had something to do with the "death of the bow-tie" or something like that. Come finals, we beat them, and some conspiracy stuff started up. Fortunately I never got in this huge argument. Good luck Hurcs. See you soon.
  6. I completely agree with you. By the way..I'd pay to see 01 Cavies:p
  7. Well that kind of is part of the whole show, but I see your point
  8. PHANTOM Unless these are last years drums...then I apologize.
  9. 1990 was very cool to see. Bushwhackers came out of nowhere and shredded it up.
  10. Seems like a common piece of music in the drum corps world. Just wondering who played what arrangements
  11. Thank you! *EDIT* Was just wondering because the second song they play is the opener from 91. Sounds awesome, keep it up (do I have to say that)
  12. I don't know that much about Pines of Rome....but did Star 91 make their own arrangement of it?
  13. F has to be Empire Statesmen. oops, I guess it could be Madison too. Was a little confused...fits our description perfectly!!
  14. I remember you teaching us that Crab step, clearly. I think it's fun actually! Sweet man, See you soon then!
  15. OH WAIT A MINUTE OH GOSH NICK I FORGOT YOU ARE MARCHING WITH US THIS YEAR I only talked to you guys like once at camp.......I COMPLTELY FORGOT LOL I thought you were just some random guy on DCP.... I didn't know you marched there as well, I knew she did though I'll be stalking your marching all summer now. What a fun comparison When are you guys going to make it back up?
  16. I saw on a DCA book from 2008, some scores throughout the years. It's really interesting watching Empire go from around 11th in 83 to winning in 91. Vince Bruni was a genius....R.I.P. Never met him but heard only great things about him.
  17. My goals this year is to 1. March as well as Zach and Chris from Phantom Regiment. 2. Become a better player 3. Support the corps, including arguing with other corps 4. Help the rookies 5. Take the 3rd sop line into my own hands (of course unless Jimmy Steele tells them otherwise) and try to get our section as good as we can possibly be 6. Entertain the audience. 7. Receive multiple standing ovations. 8. Hear boo's at finals when/if other corps beat us 9. Win DCA
